I bet you thought this was going to be a relationship post! Not quite. For as long as I can remember I have been absolutely obsessed with stars. Don’t ask me why because I definitely wouldn’t be able to give you a reason. There was a time during my childhood that I would research the planets and stars. Obviously, nothing ever came of that. Maybe I have a secret aspiration to be an astronomer! Currently, laughing inside a little bit. If you’ve been following me for a while you have probably noticed my affinity for the stars and the moon. I mean, I even have star tattoos on my wrist and foot! Maybe there was something in a past life that draws me to the universe or maybe it’s just figuring out what my ascendant sign is.
During the film I was working on last week I had the pleasure of eating dinner with the cinematographer. We started noticing some similarities in our personalities and life so he asked what my Zodiac sign was. When I told him I was a Pisces he looked confused; almost certain that he knew I WASN’T a Pisces! Most people who know anything about the Zodiac tell me that I am nothing like a true Pisces. Next question; What is your rising / ascendant sign? I presumed with my aggressive behavior I had some Scorpio in me until I actually did a little research!
After my curiosity grew I went home and found a quick, online test to see what my ascendant sign was. All you need is your birthdate, time and location you were born. Boy, was I WAY off. (Want to try to find your own ascendant sign?? HERE is a free online chart calculator.)
My sun sign is a Pisces. We all knew this. “Pisces share empathy, are good listeners, and cooperative. They are not fearful, but they appear defending and self-defending. Pisces are brave and have a thick skin. When other people are in despair and give up – they have enough endurance.”
My moon sign is an Aquarius. Moon signs mean our moon sign reveals your inner self. It can give insight into the way you handle your emotions and fears; it can also give insight into the way you love and feel. The moon also governs your moods. “They have their own, distinct and sometimes very original opinion, and they are not going to change this opinion no matter what, even if they will be left completely alone. It is very important for these individuals to retain their independence. They don’t want their personal life to be anybody else’s concern.
Often the Moon in Aquarius individuals have some outstanding abilities in one or another field, and they work like a magnet for those people who share their interests. This is why so often they take a central place in the company of like-minded friends. And even there they somehow manage to keep their uniqueness. They are not mixing well with the other people, they are together with them, but still alone.”
My rising sign is a Virgo. Where’s my Scorpio like I thought!? Rising signs also known as your ascendant, represents the way others see you, your general impression on people, and your spontaneous reactions. This is the sign that was rising over the horizon at the exact time you were born. “People with Virgo rising tend to be practical, analytical, discriminating, fastidious, careful, exacting, attentive to details, methodical, quiet, unassuming, shy, critical, thoughtful, and somewhat self-centered. You have an ingenious, active and alert mind. Gaining knowledge and putting it to good use are important to you.
You strive for perfection and can be quite the person to live with or to be around because your standards for yourself and others are so high. At times others can never be “good” enough to meet those high standards. Finding fault with what’s wrong with things is your forte. Sometimes, though, this can make relationships sour as you often turn your critical eye on the one you love and the things they do. Pessimism and being too self-critical are two faults you should try to improve upon. You may tend to worry too much, especially about the small stuff, the little details.” (Info. from AstroLibrary)
This isn’t something I necessarily believe in but it has really been so interesting to read about my ascendant sign! Some parts of the descriptions were dead on!
