For someone that rarely shops for themselves (I know, shocking) it’s extremely important for me to find staple pieces that will get me through season after season. Moto jackets have to be one of my favorite trends. For as long as I can remember they have been a relevant staple in the fashion world and I don’t see them going anywhere anytime soon.
But how do you choose the right one? Not all moto jackets are created equal. There are so many different cuts, fabrics, fits and colors. As long as the fit is great I’m not too picky on whether it is real leather, faux or even suede. I have rounded up 12 moto jackets from a few of my favorite brands that I have been wearing for years. Just click an item below and it will take you directly to shop.
This particular jacket that I am wearing in the photos has been a favorite of mine for months. I purchased it right before Fall last year and it has become a staple in my wardrobe. It is such a rich teal that has worked really well as a neutral! I’ve found that it is one of the pieces I can just throw on and go with any of my looks.
That is one of the benefits of these types of jackets. They are supposed to be an easy layering piece that can accentuate any look. Plus keep you warm! From a styling standpoint and personal preference, cropped styles are the best and most flattering. I always keep an eye out for a more tailored cut as well. You always want something slimmer in the sides so it is more flattering if you are wearing a looser top underneath.
Moto jackets are also an easy transitional piece into Spring and Summer. I absolutely love seeing cute tanks and shorts/jeans layered with a light colored, summer suede moto. It is such a flattering and eye catching look. This Show Me Your Mumu teal moto jacket is a perfect transitional color and cut. PLUS it is practically wrinkle proof! Throw this teal moto jacket in a back or your purse and you’re good to go.
