I don’t know about y’all but I cringe at the thought of spending a lot of money on clothes; especially summer tops. If I’m going to be spending any money on fashion related items I’d rather invest in a nice handbag, shoes or jewelry that will most likely be lasting me a lot longer than said clothing. Or just save my money in general for a fun vacation! But then what cute clothes do you wear on that vacation?? Long story short, it’s my job to find you affordable yet quality clothing that still looks super cute. 😜
As many of you know Grayson and I recently moved out to Lakeway. This was after we had already planned to stay at the Lakeway Resort & Spa so it seemed a bit odd that we would be going on a “vacation” that was only 3 miles away. Man, was I pleasantly surprised. Even though I was only 3 miles from home, I felt like I was in a completely different state. Talk about the perfect staycation!
I used to cringe at the thought of wearing one piece swimsuits when I was younger. One pieces always reminded me of your typical mom suit! Those types of suits that I would never be caught dead in. You know the ones! Shockingly enough, this is the first year that I have EVER owned a one piece suit. I’m so obsessed I literally can’t stop buying them. They have definitely come a long way since I was younger. Y’all know those awful suits I’m talking about, right?? I don’t know what has sparked my latest obsession with cute one pieces. Maybe it’s the fact that I am getting older and don’t feel as confident in a bikini like I used to. Or maybe its the fact that they are so cute and stylish now! Continue Reading
What a week! I have been so bad about keeping up with Instagram and the blog lately with all of this house stuff going on. For those of you that didn’t see the tiny snippet of an Instagram Story I did; we’re moving! I put my house on the market and it literally sold within a few hours. The buyers wanted a 7-10 day close which meant we had to get out of the house ASAP! Needless to say, I have been a little preoccupied with attempting to keep up with work in addition to moving somewhere! There are so many exciting things to come and I can’t wait to share all of the fun details with y’all! We are headed to a much needed stay-cation this weekend so I wanted to share one of my favorite summer looks with y’all; wide leg striped pants.
Summer is all about fun hats and beautiful dresses. There is literally no better way to kick off your summer style than with the Kentucky Derby. Whether you are planning to actually attend the Derby itself or just planning a fun soirée, I’ve got a few looks that are sure to turn heads. Not to mention they are extremely easy to recreate on a budget. So who out there is actually attending the Derby? One of these days I would love to be in the middle of the action but until then I will be glued to my TV watching all of the NBC updates! It’s not only the horses getting all of the attention; it’s the fashion!
It’s that time of the year again! Kentucky Derby party planning is in full swing. If you’re like me you procrastinate anything Kentucky Derby until it’s too late. Unlike most of the prior years, I have taken it upon myself to get a couple of posts ready to share some outfit ideas. Who all is planning to actually go to the Derby?? And who else is throwing a party or going to one?? I’ll just be dreaming about throwing a small gathering since I literally have no home right now! I will be living vicariously through everyone else’s posts this year!
I’m just going to start this post out by talking about my disbelief with how ridiculous the weather has been in 2018 so far. Not quite the warm welcome I had hoped for this year! It is literally almost May and it is still dumping snow in some locations. I’ve been needing a jacket every morning and evening here in Austin when it’s normally hitting the 90 degree mark! The need for layers or light-weight long sleeves is a must with the cooler weather sticking around. It’s been tough to find date night appropriate looks as I really don’t want to whip out my Fall clothing again. My other option would be to start layering with frumpy cardigans and I really don’t want to go that route either. I want to wear cute summer clothes! Needless to say, I was quite excited to find this black lace dress online.

Is anyone else in full on vacation mode? The travel bug has hit me full force and I have absolutely 0 vacations planned in my near future. First world problems, I know. 🙄 This girl needs a tan on this pasty skin STAT! The summer weather has already hit Austin, TX. That means it’s time to pull out the flip flops, sandals and all the summer goodies! We are already in the upper 70s and 80s! I’m almost scared to think of what our summer weather is going to look like… Definitely into the 100s! In the meantime, while I start dreaming of where I can vacation to, I wanted to share some of my favorite summer staples. Starting with FitFlop!

Hello, Monday! How was everyone’s weekend? Grayson and I had some awesome plans for the weekend to celebrate his birthday. Sadly, none of those plans actually happened! I am such an awful wife and literally got him so sick with the sinus infection I’ve been battling. Instead of resting, we ended up decluttering the house to get it put on the market this week! Not like I have any idea where we are going to go… but I am so ready for another fun renovation project. Now that I have some free time I wanted to get this Ted Baker post up! If you saw any of my Instagram Stories on Friday you saw that there is now a Ted Baker Austin store!
Party in the front, business in the back. If you’ve been reading my blog for even a week you would have noticed that I love a great high low dress or skirt. I briefly touched on my obsession for this style in my last blog post but wanted to dedicate a full story on why high low dresses are the most flattering for every body type. What I love about the high low style is that it has been around for years. It was never an overbearing trend that you had to worry about going out of style.
