This has to be one of my all-time favorite posts. EVER! Anything that involves Mr. Steven Jalapeño is going to be a favorite in my book! We had originally partnered with Chewy to share our favorite matching dog and owner Halloween costumes on Instagram but I loved the photos so much I wanted them to have a place to live on the blog.
I also wanted to give you guys some Halloween costume inspiration if y’all wanted to match your furry children! Grayson and I don’t have kids so this is the next best thing for us. Even though Steven is not a fan of being dressed up in anything other than his own fur coat. And if you don’t know what I’m talking about head over to my Instagram Story Highlights of Steven. So FUNNY! We had some hilarious outtakes from our costume try-on session.
Steven decided to take a nice face-plant into my leg and throw a fit like a toddler… Or we’ve got him trying to escape and then stands there frozen, as if he can’t move. Or the best yet… He runs away as I’m filming and all you see is something flailing in the background. Yep, it’s Steven… Throwing a fit, rolling around all over the ground until he escapes his costume and then starts barking in celebration of said fete! Y’all have to go check it out if you love Steven and want a good laugh!

My Favorite Matching Dog and Owner Halloween Costumes
A few of y’all also asked if we purchased these costumes as a set. We actually purchased these separately. I highly recommend finding your dog’s costume first before you find your own. Dog costumes are extremely limited in what is available. We found Steven’s shark costume on the Chewy website and then started searching for mine. I’ve linked a few of my other favorite matching costumes below.
I suggest using Amazon as a costume resource especially if you are just now looking. Amazon as a slew of sizes, a ton of different costume options for the entire family and most of these costumes are on Prime.
Steven is wearing a size small in his shark costume. He is about 11 pounds and the small fit him extremely well with plenty of room to spare. There is quite a bit of velcro at the neck and stomach so you can work with sizing. I am wearing a size medium in my shark costume. Every adult costume I have ever ordered in the past has always run so small that I figured I should order up this time. I went up to the medium and it fit extremely well!

This has to be the cutest costume idea I have ever seen!! Everyone always dresses up with their kids or spouses but so many people forget about their pets! What a cute idea!
