We all have our go to LBDs (little black dresses) but what about your LGDs (little grey dresses)?? I don’t know if y’all have noticed but I really love dressing in monochromatic shades and rarely wear color so I stock up on my LBDs, LGDs and LWDs or really anything that lacks color. Before I get into why I am in love with the dress in this post, I want to introduce y’all to & Other Stories. They are a one-stop styling destination filled with collections from three design ateliers in Paris, Stockholm and Los Angeles. If you didn’t know, they are the latest addition to the H&M family but are more focused on detail and quality and offer everything a women can wear, such as clothing, shoes, handbags, accessories, beauty, and swimwear. For the past few months now, & Other Stories has been one of my online go-tos for high quality basics at great prices. The first time I ever shopped with them my cart was filled with about 25 things… no joke. I ended up buying a few bikinis as well as some accessories and have been sporting them all summer. I figured it was time to check out some new arrivals a couple weeks ago and spotted this casual cotton grey dress.
I’m normally not one for tight dresses but I had to check this one out. I had been searching for a casual yet chic cotton dress that would be easy to dress up if needed. The first day I got it in the mail I threw it on for a quick date night dinner with Grayson. Of course, we had to shoot this entire look prior to going to eat so I could do this post for y’all! 😂 For the first look, I wanted to dress it up a little so I paired a gorgeous suede bag and fringe heels to complete this look. It is pretty warm here in Austin but every place cranks the AC up so I wanted to have some sort of jacket just in case I got cold. This faux leather jacket was perfect and made another cute accessory that made this look flow even better.
Sizing wise, I would highly suggest sizing up 1-2 sizes. If you are familiar with H&M sizing, you know that everything runs extremely small. I am wearing a size 6 in this dress and it was pretty tight on me. I am normally a size 2 in dresses and am a DD bust, so that is why I gave myself a little extra wiggle room with this dress. The shoes are also from & Other Stories and run true to size. They only come in half sizes so order the size below what you normally wear. I normally wear a 7.5 but ordered a 7.
This dress is selling out pretty quickly because it was just marked down to $28 so get it before it’s gone! I also linked a very similar, looser fitting grey dress below as well. I will be getting a post up on how to wear this casual as well so keep an eye out!
