Is anyone else still behind on their Christmas shopping? Christmas Day is only 7 days away and if you’re feeling a little less than prepared this post should help you get a few ideas, especially if you’re in Austin. The holidays are all about giving but it seems to be harder and harder to find the perfect gift for your friends and family these days. I know I can’t be the only one who gets the same responses from their loved ones. You know, when they all say that they really don’t want or need anything. I took it upon myself to create the ultimate best shopping in Austin gift guide with the Domain in North Austin.
Best Shopping in Austin:
The past couple of weeks have been a holiday shopping whirlwind. I was offered the most amazing opportunity to partner with one of my favorite shopping centers in Austin; The Domain. And believe me when I say it’s my favorite… I am there multiple times a week! They have the absolute best shopping in Austin. Whether you are wanting designer goodies, men’s clothing, women’s clothing and accessories, they’ve got it all. It has been my one stop shop for shopping since I moved to Austin over 10 years ago.
The gals at the Domain proposed such a fun idea that I couldn’t pass up that was all about friends, family, and gift giving. The goal was to give me a shopping budget to shop at 7 different retailers that all have completely different products to come up with the ultimate gift guide for anyone and everyone in your life on any budget. All at the Domain.
Not only did I get to go on the ultimate shopping spree, I was invited to host a beautiful event. Now, this isn’t your typical holiday event. Last Thursday I had the absolute honor to spend an eventful 2 hours with some of my closest friends and Austin influencers. AND I got to raffle off every single item that I purchased on my shopping expedition.
CRU Food & Wine Bar hosted our event at their beautiful Domain location. They did such an amazing job decorating their space for the holidays and Debbie with i3 Event Marketing created the most stunning table settings.
Now, let’s talk gift ideas for y’all! Since there were only a handful of people at the event I wanted to give a more in-depth recap of each gift I picked. Last week I went to 7 of my favorite retailers in the Domain to shop my favorite gifts. Some of y’all might have seen some of my gift picks and a couple try-on sessions on Instagram Stories. If you missed it, they are all saved on my Instagram Highlights under Domain Event.
My main goal with shopping at each of these retailers was to find items that could work for anyone in your life at any budget. There are some splurge pieces as well as affordable stocking stuffers.
My first stop was Tory Burch. They are such an iconic brand that everyone loves. I wanted something a little different that their classic pieces so I went with these gorgeous Crystal Celestial Mismatched earrings. I personally think that every woman needs a beautiful pair of statement earrings. You can wear these for any occasion whether it’s fancy or casual. They are extremely versatile and make such a great gift. I heard the oohs and aahs when I shared these so they are definitely a winner.
Did anyone else know that Tory Burch had a foundation? I had absolutely no idea until I went into the Austin store at the Domain. The store manager spotted me checking it out and gave me the scoop. Tory Burch’s foundation is all about empowering women and helps other females to become entrepreneurs.
The Tory Burch Foundation Seed Box includes a curated selection of products made by women entrepreneurs. And it is all packaged in a graphic keepsake box. This box was such a huge hit this season it’s already sold out in stores and online.
Most people think of Neiman Marcus as store that only carries high end, designer items. I wanted to showcase an array of items that work for any and every budget. Whether you want to splurge or save, there is really something for everyone.
My first pick was the iconic Gucci belt. I don’t know one person that wouldn’t love to get this belt as a gift. Hell, I even asked my mom to get me the black one for Christmas! These things sell out like hot cakes year after year and don’t get restocked that often. Gucci belts are definitely a splurge item but well worth the price.
I chose the Rebecca Minkoff envelope clutch as my next item. I think everyone in the room was shocked when I mentioned it was only $95! These clutches come in a slew of colors and make the perfect gift because it is such a versatile bag.
Lastly, I wanted to get something for your home. The NEST candle and diffuser set make the best gifts. I even asked my friend to get me this for Christmas! The holiday set smells just like Christmas and is only $74. Hurry, they are selling out fast!
Johnny Was is a retailer that I wasn’t too familiar with. I had been in their Domain location a few times because they have the most gorgeous scarves. It wasn’t until I was looking at their website that I realized they have some amazing basics like this extremely soft beige cardigan. I’m all about cozy pieces during the cooler months and this piece is a must have.
It is a splurge piece but well worth the $328 price tag. I actually wanted this for myself but had to practice a little self-control and not buy myself one! This cardigan comes in multiple colors as well.
Lilly Pulitzer is known for their beautiful and extremely colorful clothing and accessories. It’s one of those brands that you can immediately spot on the street. They have been an iconic brand in the fashion industry for years and years. I didn’t want to focus on clothing from Lilly so I stuck with pieces that could work for anyone and any size.
The first piece I want to talk about is their cashmere wrap. It does come in multiple colors if you aren’t a huge fan of black. Priced at $198 it is 100% cashmere and works for any age range. It is so versatile, there are 5 different ways you can wear this wrap and the lovely ladies at the Lilly Pulitzer will personally show you how to wear each one and if you’re lucky you might even get a mimosa!
The next item from Lilly Pulitzer is this beautiful gold scarf. I chose this item because it is a piece that will work season after season and it is extremely versatile. You can also wear this as a shawl or wrap. It is priced at $98 but will last year after year without becoming trendy.
Last but not least is this stunning agenda. I don’t know about y’all, but I’m still one of those people that loves writing everything down in addition to still using a paper planner. I always think cute note cards or planners make the best gifts. They are affordable and make people want to start writing ideas and thoughts down.
I was so jealous of the gal that won this set. Luxe Apothetique is probably your most efficient one stop shop for everything gift related. I like to call this store the ultimate stocking stuffer retailer. Not only do they carry women’s clothing and shoes but they have every goodie under the sun. From candles to planners to beauty products, they are one of my favorite places to get fun, little gifts for everyone. They even have a hair salon in the store. Literally your one stop shop for everything gift related. I actually have a plan to go back next week to grab a few extra things!
Peter Millar has been one of my favorite men’s retailers since I worked at Neiman Marcus back in college. To this day, I still personally shop in there as well as bring countless amounts of clients to shop for the men in their lives. If you’re not familiar with Peter Millar they have some amazing, well fitting men’s clothing.
I ended up creating an affordable gift set for any of the men in your life. Their dress shirts range from $125-248. In addition to dress shirts they have some great stocking stuffer options. I ended up choosing a gingham sport shirt for $125 along with some boxers and a couple pairs of socks. I know most guys hate shopping for clothes or even getting clothes as gifts, but this is really a great option because we all want our men to look amazing.
They’ve even started selling women’s clothing too! I’m extremely excited to check that out soon.
Last but not least is Ted Baker. They are one of the newer retailers that moved into the Domain. I was so excited to be able to add them to my list because they have some great gift ideas at a range of price points.
Most of y’all know by now that I love rocking beanies 24/7 in the Fall/Winter. I don’t know one person that doesn’t like wearing beanies during the cooler months. This particular beanie is part cashmere but is something I would wear everyday. It is priced at $79 and would make such a cozy gift.
My next pick from Ted Baker was one of their bags. They have some beautiful leather bags that are extremely affordable. I ended up choosing one of the more versatile bags that still has a pop of detail. Classic handbags always make amazing gifts.
They were even nice enough to loan me an outfit for the event. I had been looking for the perfect wide leg pants for the last couple of years and these were the ones. I actually ended up buying them after the event I loved them so much!
Not only did the Domain spoil us with an amazing luncheon but they even gifted each guest a goodie bag. Each bag had Waterford Crystal flutes, some tasty candy, and a $100 gift card to one of the retailers I had presented. All of these retailers went above and beyond when we all came to redeem our gift cards. Ted Baker gave the cutest goodie bag with a makeup bag and an umbrella. Peter Millar took photos of everyone for their social media. They really made everyone feel like a million bucks.
Thank you to Ted Baker for loaning me this outfit for the event!
A HUGE thank you to the Domain and CRU for throwing such an amazing event and allowing me to be a part of it. And another HUGE thank you to all of my guests for attending and supporting me!
