Happy Wednesday, everyone! This super chic outfit is one of my latest favorites. Mainly because it has my two favorite colors in it; black and white and because it’s a great mix of dressy and casual. Austin is such a casual city, it’s really hard to get dressed up without standing out like a sore thumb, which makes mixing and matching dressy and casual pieces even more fun!
I got this gorgeous Chicwish top last month and had been dying to wear it. It’s a little too toasty in Austin for a long sleeve black top, but packed it in my bag for Portland! That city literally reminded me of Austin but had amazing weather! The temps were a high of around 75 and a low in the 50s the few days I was there. It was beyond amazing! Ok, now I’m getting distracted! I could seriously go on about how much I loved Portland!
Anyway, this top was perfect for Portland! I paired it with one of my more casual asymmetrical, cotton skirts and a pair of lace-up espadrilles, which dressed it up a little bit more. My trusty Gigi New York clutch came in handy for that outfit too! It was definitely the perfect BLACK accessory! 🙂
If you have a hard time pairing tops like this with bottoms, you’re not alone. Even me, being a stylist had a tough time putting something with this top because 1. It’s a dressier fabric and cut and 2. My torso was too long for normal bottoms, so I had to opt for something a little more high waisted. If you’re in the same boat with the long torso, find some high waisted skirts, pants or denim and this will fit you perfectly with no midriff showing. If you want to wear this a little more casual that what I had on, I suggest throwing on a pair of dark jeans and pointy toe pumps or cute sandals.
