We survived Monday! Hooray!! I hope everyone had a fabulous day. It has been so rainy in Austin but with this rain brought the cooler temps, which I definitely am not complaining about. I mean, I was able to wear a jacket today!! This morning, I had the pleasure of touring the new Nordstrom store that is opening THIS Friday at the Domain Northside and let me tell you right now, STUNNING. There is so much natural light and everything is so out in the open. The layout literally made me want to buy everything in the store! I did a few Snapchats of the store (@DTK_Austin) so go check it out before anyone else gets a peek in! And if you’re in Austin, be sure to go check it out on Friday for the grand opening!
Now, onto what I’m wearing; what this post is actually about. 🙂 One of the hardest outfits for me to pull off is a romper, as many of you already know! It’s hard enough to find one that fits this long torso, so when I actually find one that fits properly I am ecstatic! Surprisingly enough, I found this romper and fell in love immediately! It’s under $50 and works so well because of the elastic OTS style which works great for long and short torsos. Not only is there elastic around the shoulders but you can comfortably eat a TON of food with the elastic around the waist. Yes, please!! And how cute is the ruffle detail?? The fabric flows so well and was extremely comfortable for a day wandering around Austin. The awesome thing about this romper is that you can wear this in the warmer temps but since it’s been getting chillier I’ve thrown on a pair of OTK boots to carry it into Fall!
Alight, let’s talk finding the right pair of OTK boots. If you already saw my post on my Fall faves then this will be somewhat of a repeat. If you didn’t, here are a few tips on finding some great OTK boots that fit every body style. I know a lot of people have concerns about the thigh and calf circumference on some of these boots. For example, if you look at Stuart Weitzman‘s OTK boots you can feel that the leather is stretchy and they also have adjustable ties on the back which helps with sizing. Anyone with super skinny legs to larger legs are able to wear boots like this because they conform to your leg shape and are extremely comfortable. Most OTK boots these days are a stretchier fabric, so keep an eye out if you are in the market but haven’t had any luck in the past. Steve Madden and Vince Camuto are great options as well.
The boots I bought at the beginning of last season are Sam Edelman and they have literally lasted me over a year of wearing them constantly in the cooler weather. OTK boots are so great to dress an outfit up if you are wanting that extra, sultry look and you can even rock them with jeans and a sweater, which is one of my fav looks for Fall! They definitely spiced up this romper look! I honestly feel like people feel like a new person in these boots!! They elongate everyones legs and give that added height we all want!
