Let’s talk sneakers. Not the sneakers you are wearing to go work out but the sneakers you see people wearing with dresses, blazers, slacks, etc. The sneaker trend never really struck my fancy until earlier this year. Don’t get me wrong though, I do love a good sneaker. I would just find myself wearing more tennis shoe style running sneakers with my athleisure-wear more than anything. At this point in my life, I even have countless amounts of Converse and Vans that I would wear with cutoff shorts and a tee. But we aren’t talking about those today how to wear white sneakers.
Forget the Converse these days! It’s all about awesome sneakers. I was never one to really get into this trend, like I said above. My legs just seemed a little too short to wear sneakers with anything but short shorts during the summer. No matter what I would try, my legs looked like little stubs. Not even joking in the least bit!
I was almost forced into this trend when we went to Italy. Instead of the warm, summery weather we were all expecting it rained the entire time. And not warm, muggy rain. It was actually cold. So cold, I had to go buy a coat. My wardrobe almost became solely leggings, tees, a coat and sneakers. I have to say, I actually really enjoyed this outfit despite how hard I was fighting this trend! I can’t wait to wear the exact same looks when the weather cools down a bit in Texas.
How to wear white sneakers
Over the last couple of months I got my hands on a couple of new pairs of white Puma sneakers. These are actually some of the first Puma kicks I’ve owned and was really excited to find some looks I could actually pull off. I went to Nordstrom one afternoon and tried on a ton of different looks to try and find something that actually elongated my legs.
I ended up finding this beautiful mini dress by Reformation. I’ve worn some of their dresses before and absolutely love this brand. I was extremely excited when my favorite look out of the batch was from them. It was such a perfect dress too because it has little while polka dots on it which make the white sneakers pop against the black!
I am wearing a size 6 in this dress for reference. It is a little on the shorter side but keep in mind I do have a really long torso so this dress will fit a little longer on most everyone else. These white sneakers also run true to size.
My favorite part about this dress is the fact that you can easily transition it into Fall. The photos below show the summer version with these white Puma sneakers and then another photo with how I would transition this mini dress into Fall.
In the cooler months I will throw on a black felt hat with my favorite black faux leather BlankNYC Moto jacket. I just love how the sneakers pop with all of the black.
I ended up loving the first pair of sneakers so much I wanted the all white pair too. Does anyone else love something so much you end up buying it in multiple colors? That is totally me with these sneakers and a gazillion other things in my life.
This look is a little more on the casual side compared to the look above. It was my goal to show a couple of different ways you can pair white sneakers with multiple looks that will work in Fall and Winter. Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t wear white after Labor Day! I absolutely love any type of winter white outfit even if it is just a pop of white in your shoes.
Same drill with these shoes. I ended up going up to Nordstrom to try on a few more Fall inspired outfits. And of course, a sweater and leggings was the winning outfit! There were a few Leith dress options with overcoats that looked absolutely amazing with these sneakers but I really needed a casual look that I can easily run around in and stay comfy.
I found this Topshop sweater at the beginning of my search and knew it would be a winner. It looked amazing paired with my Spanx faux leather leggings with these sneakers. The white in the sweater really made these shoes pop. I do love an all black outfit but a black and white outfit is even better!
I got home and started trying everything on together and threw on this striped long sleeve tee. It worked so perfectly with this look! I just love the pop of stripes against the knit detailing on the sweater. It just all really makes the white sneakers stand out.
I figured there was no better time to post my last Winter Puma outfit now that Spring is right around the corner. Nothing like being months behind! The next pair of shoes actually feel a little more spring inspired. They have subtle colors throughout even though they are the same exact style as the other 2 pairs in this post.
I’m hoping these pieces are still in stock but I will link everything I can find below. Either way, all of the sneakers in this post will literally go with any outfit in this post!
The first look is more of a transitional look. I absolutely love pairing sneakers with black Spanx leggings, a graphic tee and some sort of cardigan. It’s such an easy look if you don’t like the fuss of putting outfits together.
The second look is more of a cozy, casual look that is perfect to lounge around in or run errands. I found this cozy fleece/sherpa poncho that looks like a Christmas tree skirt when it’s on the hanger. I loved this piece because it works perfectly with leggings and it is beyond cozy!
I STILL wear this poncho around the house to cozy up in. Of course, I have it paired with my favorite black faux leather leggings which I highly recommend for any season if you haven’t pulled the trigger on these!
Hopefully, this gives you a little better idea on how to transition your white sneakers into multiple seasons. There are so many great outfit options and white shoes literally go with everything. I always like trying to find looks that will really make the sneakers pop but still have everything be a cohesive and chic outfit. You don’t want the shoes to look out of place.
