{How to Style a Blazer Multiple Ways}

{How to Style a Blazer Multiple Ways}

One of my most asked questions I get as a stylist is what is the one staple piece that I would recommend keeping in your closet at all times, no matter the season, no matter the outfit. I highly suggest having at least one black blazer in your closet. Blazers go with anything and everything that can easily be dressed up or dressed down.

The first blazer I am going to share is from Gibson and it is actually on the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale right now. It comes in 6 different colors and is marked down half off to under $50. I obviously opted for the black since my color palette favors darker hues. There is a beautiful white that I have added to my list too!

This particular blazer is such a comfortable fit yet is slightly tailored. I am wearing the size XS for reference. Gibson pieces are notorious for running a little on the larger side and I always like my blazers to fit a little tighter to give an even more tailored fit. It has a front button closer and the fabric is so soft.

What I love about this blazer is that you can easily dress this up or down. The fabric isn’t your typical dressy blazer fabric. It’s more of a soft, cotton fabric that you can dress down easily. I am going to share 4 different dressy and casual ways I love to wear a blazer. I’ve received so much feedback on blazers that most people think you can only wear these on dressier or work occasions but that is definitely not the case!

This type of look is probably my favorite way to wear a blazer. I love pairing a tailored blazer with a looser top, black leggings and a pair of OTK boots or booties. If you wear a looser top under a fitted blazer, it will give the illusion of being more tailored to give you even more of a figure.

Blazers are probably the easiest way to dress up any denim outfit. I always love pairing a blazer with a white or black bodysuit, skinny jeans and a pair of heels. It takes this look to an entirely different level!

This is probably my absolutely favorite way to wear a blazer. I know I am saying that about all of these looks but they are all so different! This look is so easy to throw together too and can be worn casual or dressier. By now y’all have seen me post about these black paperbag shorts and this Free People bodysuit! A blazer instantly dresses this outfit up and gives the look a more elevated look.

You can wear this outfit with a pair of sandals to dress is down a little more. Opt for a pair of black heels if you want to dress it up. This is such a versatile look for any occasion!

This is another extremely easy way to dress down one of your favorite blazers. Just think of it like a cardigan that you would layer with your favorite tank top and denim shorts. This look is one reason why I absolutely love the versatility of a blazer. You can make it so dressed up to look like a million bucks or you can throw it on with a pair of cutoff shorts and a graphic tee.

The next round of blazer shots might look a little familiar. I had found these 2 Walmart blazers a couple weeks ago and had to add them into this post because they have quickly become 2 of my new favorites. They are a totally different style than this black Gibson blazer but you can still work with the same concept of pairing with different types of looks.

I’ve linked my entire outfit in the collage below. Just click on a specific item to shop.

Okay, let’s talk sizing and details! These blazers have quickly become my favorites! Judging from all of the Instagram messages I received when I posted my sneak peek, they’re some of your favorites too! I have been on the hunt for the perfect black and white blazer for years. YEARS, y’all! I stumbled upon the Express double breasted blazer and ended up buying the black and white when they were on sale. I still haven’t worn those… They seem a little more constricting and a little on the shorter side.

By now most of y’all know I have a really long torso and it’s hard to find pieces of clothing that hit in the right places and even me out. When I saw these boyfriend blazers on the Walmart site I was hooked and knew I had to order them. I ended up sizing down to the XS because I like a more tailored fit in my blazers. Stick with your usual size if you are wearing thicker pieces of clothing underneath.

They are the perfect length and can easily be dressed up or down. I have the white blazer a little more dressed up with skinny jeans, a pair of heels and a bodysuit underneath. These blazers can easily be worn casual with a pair of denim shorts and a graphic tee. I will be wearing these blazers non-stop in the Fall/Winter. There is nothing better than an amazing fitting blazer that just makes you feel like a million bucks!

This blazer also comes in multiple colors! I know this blazer is considered a boyfriend blazer but it really doesn’t have an extreme, oversized fit like when you think of something the boyfriend fit. I think it is so chic and fits perfectly. There is a little tailoring to give you slimmed figure and it is not constricting or tight in the arms.

Alright, let’s talk denim. I’ve shared these jeans with y’all in my Jordache post. By now y’all probably know I rarely wear jeans because I am so picky about the fit. I was a little skeptical ordering $16 denim because I don’t even like $200 denim! Let me just tell you, my expectations were exceeded. Best $16 I have ever spent. The fit of these are the best I have ever found. I am wearing the size 2 for reference.
