Y’all. I have been so bad about sharing details about our new home. We have been here over a year and I realized I haven’t shared much of anything about the house with you guys. I’ve posted a few snippets on Instagram but wanted to have more photos in one place you can come back to for inspiration. With that being said, I finally got around to shooting more photos so I can share all the dining room decorating ideas I came up with for summer!
If y’all haven’t noticed by now, my style is very minimal. I don’t like much going on with my outfits which has transitioned into the way I decorate my home. I’ve been very particular with decorating this house. Hence why I haven’t shown much of it because I haven’t perfected each space yet.
The dining room and kitchen have been my main focus over the last year. The living room, dining room and kitchen are all one large space. My last house was completely separated off so it was easy to differentiate the spaces and in turn, appropriately decorate. This house has been a challenge because of the larger areas. But I think I still came up with some great dining room decorating ideas. So you’ll have to let me know what you think!
Stunning Dining Room Decorating Ideas for Summer
I ended up not wanting to purchase much new furniture or decor for this new house. So I made what I had work the best it could. This dining table was one of the pieces I knew would stay in the new place. Funny enough, this dining table and bench have been 2 of my most popular sellers and has had the most questions over the years!
Guess what? It’s currently on MAJOR SALE!!
I wanted to create a space with the dining room as the main focal point. It’s what you see right when you walk in the front and the back doors. Our white oak flooring is pretty light which made me love this darker table more. I have the chestnut color, for anyone wondering. The one thing I did change out were the chairs. Instead of having matching chairs I went with a variety and added a bench in there.
The color palette is extremely neutral with subtle pops of greenery. Everything in the house is so light and bright I wanted to have contrasting pieces throughout the space. You can’t have everything be all beige or all white. I mean, I guess you could but that just seems a little sterile for my liking!
I picked up quite a few pieces from MacKenzie-Childs to decorate the dining room and kitchen. They have some beautiful new pieces that just looked stunning in my home! The white vase on my dining table is from MacKenzie-Childs. I wanted to go with a variety of different shaped vases and add faux-greenery for my pop of color.

That vase is actually one of my favorite pieces in my entire home. There is just something about it that is so beautiful. I just catch myself staring at it all the time! Is that weird?! It’s from their Sweetbriar collection which I’ve linked above.
I absolutely love the overall look of dark pieces in a home with lighter decor. Whether it be a lighter seat cushion, a white vase with greenery or a wooden cutting board used as decor. I personally love changing up a space completely with just changing up a few small pieces of decor. You can really transform your home without breaking the bank.
I’ve had this dining room table for years and years and every single season I transform the entire space with swapping seasonal pieces that work with the space. Make decorating fun and not a hassle!

you always have such pretty home decor!
Your kitchen and dining space are just beautiful! I actually love the minimal style. When it comes to a space like this, it should be pretty but functional – and that’s how yours is!
Love your dining room decor! The mix of seating is such a unique and fun touch!

This space looks perfect and reflects your style SO well! I’m obsessed with the pendant lights though, they’re gorgeous!
I love this! Where are the chairs at each end of the table from?
Thank you! They are from Living Spaces!
I couldn’t find end dining chairs on living spaces. By chance do you recall the name of them? Thank you!
Oh gosh, I don’t! They are over 2 years old! I’m sorry!
I absolutely love this room. Can you please tell me where you purchased the two chairs opposite the bench from? I’m slightly obsessed.
Thank you! They are from Living Spaces a couple years ago.
