Who else agrees that 2016 was the year for Gucci?? They are KILLING the fashion industry right now. First, it was the who’s who of blogging sporting the new GG belts, then the new leather cross-bodies and now almost every single person I follow is sporting something Gucci whether it is a bag, belt, flats or all of the above. I wasn’t going to be that blogger that was going to succumb to being like everyone else, but I literally can’t stop obsessing over EVERYTHING Gucci right now. I literally want it all. If I was mega rich, I would totally have it all! But until then I will stick to my most coveted piece from the collection; the Gucci GG Marmont.
As I excitedly searched the Neiman Marcus website for the perfect Gucci bag, I literally was taken aback by how many size options there were… And not being able to judge sizes accurately online I had no idea what a mini, small or medium realistically looked like. At that point, I started stalking bloggers that I knew had this bag and I STILL couldn’t tell which size anyone had. They literally all looked the same to me!! In my frustration, I ordered the mini, which is on the left in the photo below. It came in and I was shocked at how mini that thing actually was. After bugging anyone and everyone who would listen to me, I decided it was time that I spend more money and order the small size to see how they compared.
I’ve listed the pros and cons of each size below with photo descriptions so y’all can see which might be more appropriate for you.
Surprisingly, in the above photo the mini doesn’t look so mini… Even Grayson was like yeah, that doesn’t really look like it does in person so put your phone next to it. So, I did… And it looks pretty mini!
As you can see, the mini will barely hold an iPhone 6 Plus or an iPhone 7 Plus… Like that’s literally the only thing thats going to fit in that tiny bag. If you don’t carry much stuff as it is and you are looking for the more affordable, easy to carry bag, I would definitely suggest getting the mini. That size would have worked for me but if I was spending over $1k with tax, I wanted something that was a little more practical for everyday use. If your purchasing a statement piece like this, don’t settle for the less expensive one if it’s not practical. In my opinion, it’s better to save up and get the bag that will last you a lifetime.
The small size was definitely more my type. I normally wouldn’t lug around my full on zipper wallet, but wanted to use it for size comparison on what will actually fit in the small. I easily fit my big wallet, big phone, lip gloss, keys and a bottle of Tylenol with room to spare. Ideally, I would only have a card holder, phone, lip gloss and keys in there most days but I do like having the option for more space if I wanted. The downside to this bag is that it is $1200, or around $1300 with tax. For the amount of extra room you get I really don’t think the price difference is that astronomical if you are investing in a nice, leather bag.
Overall, I don’t think you can really go wrong with either bag. It was just confusing as hell to try and figure out how big these bags actually were. I know if I was having trouble, other people were probably in the same boat!!
P.S. It’s my birthday in less than a month AND I just had surgery that I’m STILL recovering from… With that being said, I’ve been really good this year and adore this handbag…
