What a week! I have been so bad about keeping up with Instagram and the blog lately with all of this house stuff going on. For those of you that didn’t see the tiny snippet of an Instagram Story I did; we’re moving! I put my house on the market and it literally sold within a few hours. The buyers wanted a 7-10 day close which meant we had to get out of the house ASAP! Needless to say, I have been a little preoccupied with attempting to keep up with work in addition to moving somewhere! There are so many exciting things to come and I can’t wait to share all of the fun details with y’all! We are headed to a much needed stay-cation this weekend so I wanted to share one of my favorite summer looks with y’all; wide leg striped pants.
I don’t know about y’all but I love a good pair of wide leg striped pants. Every Spring and Summer I go on the hunt for the perfect pair of breathable linen pants. Y’all know it gets hot as the dickens in Texas. Did I get that saying right?! Anyway, last Summer I realized that my go-to looks were short cutoff shorts and a t-shirt or tank top with flip flops. There’s nothing wrong with wearing that on a daily basis but this girl needs a little variety. When Summer rolls around I always feel like I envision the cutest looks in my head. Trying to actually implement those with this hot ass weather is the challenge. Hence why I can’t seem to get away from shorts and tank tops.
The wide leg pant hunt started early this year and thankfully, I stocked up! I wanted to find a solid white, a striped and a black pair and shockingly, I found all three pretty easily! All extremely affordable and the fit is amazing.
Let’s focus on this particular pair of striped pants. I found these on a website called Shop AKIRA. Their online shop has been a go-to of mine over the past year. Not only do they have amazing, on trend clothing but they are extremely affordable. Once I spotted these pants I was immediately drawn to them. I haven’t been able to find a good pair of striped pants for quite some time. They are either too see-through, don’t fit my hips correctly, or just don’t fit well in general. Even Grayson has been helping me pick through the (what feels like hundreds) of wide leg pants and he chose this pair as his fave. So you know it has to be good!
Why do I love these so much? First off, they have pockets. I LOVE pants that have pockets. The width of the pant leg is absolutely perfect too. They are lined in just the right places so you aren’t constricted with a lining throughout the entire pant. Plus, with the elastic waistband you can wear them higher or lower depending on what style you are going for. Last but not least, when I think of any outfit that consists of wide leg pants, I am immediately thinking chic. They elongate your body especially when you wear some amazing heels. I really don’t know if I have seen a bad look when someone is wearing pants like these. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure they are out there but that should tell you that you need a pair in your closet! They are seasonless!
Just know you will most likely be seeing these striped pants quite often! And they are definitely coming with me this weekend to lounge around in by the pool!

I’m not sure I’ve ever been more into a pair of pants! The fact that these aren’t see through AND they have pockets won me over! I gotta get my hands on more wide-legged pants ASAP because they really are the best alternative to shorts in the hotter months!
