How is it that I am already need a break from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale madness? The sale hasn’t even started yet! I needed to get this post up that I started working on over a week ago anyway. 😂 Story of my life. I don’t know about y’all but I live in jumpsuits and rompers during the warmer months. It always makes me think of those memes/cartoons of people going to the bathroom completely naked. Please tell me y’all have seen those?! Jumpsuits are definitely THE BEST until you have to get completely undressed just to go pee! The struggle is real.
That struggle isn’t really slowing any of us down though. I know I prefer wearing a glorified onesie over anything else during the Texas heat. Well, I take that back. I wear maxi dresses just as much and probably love those even more BUT jumpsuits/rompers are a really close second.
Grayson and I shot this look back when we were in Hilton Head a couple of weekends ago. This was actually our very first night there.. I was beyond excited that Red Dress Boutique had made a special effort to send me a care package full of fun clothing for the trip. Everything made it just in time for us to get ready for dinner and do a little beach exploring.
How does it fit?
I think this is something I am going to start adding to all of my fashion related posts. Which is essentially all of them. 😂 I’ve had some amazing feedback on some of my blog posts and Instagram Stories when I talk about sizing and specific fit details. People also suggest that since I am a wardrobe stylist and the main focus of my job is fit I should be talking more about that. So here we go! I know it’s extremely frustrating for people to shop online and not know how a garment fits. Then you have to spend time re-packaging, returning and potentially re-ordering.
Overall, the fit of this jumpsuit is amazing. I actually have this saved in my Instagram Story Highlights which explains the fit in quite a bit of detail. Being 5’8″ the length of this jumpsuit was perfect for me when only wearing heels or tall wedges. Personally, with my long torso and shorter legs I would not wear flats or sandals with this piece.
My goal with cropped jumpsuits is to elongate my legs. Anyone who has extremely long legs won’t have this problem so you can get away with wearing flats or any type of shoe for that matter. If you are on the shorter side I would highly recommend wearing something with a little height. The cut is going to make a shorter person look really short and wide. Thankfully, the stripes are vertical so it gives you the illusion of being a little taller.
I am wearing a size small and it fit me perfectly. If you are on the bustier side I would suggest ordering a size up so the top isn’t too tight on your rib cage. The top does come with padding and plenty of support so you don’t have to wear a bra with this.
