My gosh, what a whirlwind of a week. Like I had mentioned in my SXSW Survival Guide, it never gets any easier! After 8 years of attending SX you’d think I would be a pro at being out non-stop but with work, trying to stay healthy and then getting older I’m wanting to go to bed at 10am! This week was made even more difficult as most of you saw from my Instagram Stories. Everyone obviously knows I had shoulder surgery and haven’t been making much progress due to some major nerve issues so my surgeon suggested a steroid injection to help get things loosened up so my shoulder would move more. Long story short, that was hell and I was in mega pain the next 2 days while I was out and about for SX. As if that wasn’t bad enough, I had to get up extremely early to go to PT Thursday and Friday before heading out for the days events! So being tired was an understatement! I definitely had an absolute blast and am actually sad it’s already over!! Until next year, right?
As most of you know by now I partnered with one of my favorite companies, CLIF Bar for the entire week of different SX events. Fun Fact – I have literally been eating CLIF Bars since I was in elementary school so it has been amazing to partner with a company that I’ve loved for years and years. Every time I tell my dad I’ve partnered with CLIF again he gets really excited and hopes I send him free CLIF Bars… Being the good daughter that I am he’s obviously not left empty handed! And we definitely stocked up every single day at these events and then practically ate them all 24/7. They’re so dang good! If you haven’t tried the new Nut Butter filled bars you HAVE to try them! The peanut butter is the bomb!!
There were so many festivities going on that some of my looks weren’t posted on Instagram so I wanted to do a quick round-up of my favorite outfits from the week. I even added the 2 photos that were featured on the LiketoKnow.it Instagram account for the SXSW Takeover Tuesday! Those were 2 extremely popular looks so if you missed them you can check them out below or on their account HERE and HERE.
I’ve added scrollers to the bottom of each photo so you can easily shop what I am wearing without having to go through LiketoKnow.it on Instagram. You can always shop my Instagram posts without being signed up for LTK at DTKAustin.com/shopinstragram.
This was my pre-SXSW kick-off look! The weather in Austin has been so amazing that any excuse I have to wear my cutoffs is a definitely going to be day! As you’ll notice in ALL of the outfits, besides one, I’m in the same short shorts.
If you’re still looking for the perfect Spring/Summer top, this is it. I even did an entire post on this look because it’s legit my all-time favorite! I explain the fit and why it’s the best over there so go check it out! You can find it HERE or just click the image and it will take you there.
Staying comfy is key while at a music festival and this look was extremely comfy for being outside all day long. If you didn’t see this post I am talking all about how to stay comfortable while being on your feet and outside for hours and hours at a time. If you’ve been eyeing this top I suggest snagging it now because it has already sold out at Nordstrom so I’ve linked a couple options below on the scroller.
The day I was scheduled to go hang out with the LiketoKnow.it gals the weather took a turn for the worse. Not only had the weather been amazing in Austin for weeks ahead of time but it turned cold and raining. All of the looks I had planned for the weekend had to be changed to cold weather outfits! Does anyone feel sexy all bundled up?? NO! I still tried to make this look cute and appealing for Spring with the comfiest tank that’s only $45 with a nude, faux leather jacket over. Even though it was raining I still insisted on wearing my favorite suede booties that I ruined that day, but it was worth it!
This was my second look that was featured on the LiketoKnow.it takeover and actually performed really well! This jacket was a HUGE hit, so if you’ve been eyeing it I would highly recommend grabbing it before it goes out of stock. BlankNYC jackets are always the rage but always sell out so quickly! This CamiNYC top is another must-have. At this point, I own about 7 camis from them and literally get so many complements when I wear them. They are priced a little over $100 but you will wear them more than you think. These camis have been my best seller, if that tells you anything! Time to go shopping!
This has to be my other favorite SXSW outfit! I’ve worn this before but love it so much I figured I’d throw it on for a day of music. Layering is always the best so I love throwing on a light weight cardigan over a cami with pretty detailing. (P.S. This cami is only $55 and is only available in a couple sizes so get it before it’s gone for good.) And of course, the cutoffs are my go-to in the summer! What I love so much about these particular shorts is that they fit amazing and I love the lace pockets that peek out.
Hello, fabulous lace-ups! I love a good lace-up detail and these shoes totally nailed it. Ok, I have to say that Frye is killing it with their shoe game this season. I wore their shoes every single day walking around and standing and my feet were still SO happy by the time I got home! This outfit was during St. Patricks day and as most of y’all know I don’t really wear color. I scored this super cute, light teal blouse for under $60 and I didn’t get pinched once! Toned down green, FTW! Totally counts as a color!
I can’t believe we’re at the last outfit! Makes me sad that it’s already over again! I spent all day yesterday at Whole Foods for the Southwest Invasion with CLIF listing to some music with my mom! She came in town from California to spend the weekend with me so it was a fun time to bring her to SXSW. She’s never been so it was a fun experience!
How cute is this top? This is another summer top that I highly recommend for warmer weather. It’s selling out so fast but I found it ON SALE and still in stock HERE. It works as such a great neutral and don’t be afraid to wear denim on denim!
Style tip – If you are looking for a great designer bag that’s not thousands of dollars I would recommend this Gucci. It is such great quality and the perfect size. I actually did an entire post comparing the sizes of each and judging from sales and clicks, people are loving the size I am carrying.
