How is it already time to start thinking about Christmas cards? It’s not even Thanksgiving yet and I’m fully immersed in everything Christmas. I don’t know about y’all but thinking about Christmas this early is a little unsettling. Has anyone seen those memes that have been going around that say something like I’m sick of y’all going straight from Halloween to Christmas like Thanksgiving isn’t even a Holiday? Or the one that’s like Y’all go from Halloween to Christmas back to Thanksgiving and then back to Christmas. Y’all know that’s so true too!
Minted Christmas Cards:
When did everyone start rushing into Christmas?? I don’t remember ever setting up the tree this early. #bloggerproblems. It seriously never fails though. I would have the idea in my head to order Minted Christmas cards before Halloween and then mid December rolls around and I haven’t done a damn thing.
Last year was actually the first time Grayson and I had ever sent out Christmas cards. I got an email to partner with Minted Christmas Cards for some cute cards so we figured, what the hell!! Might as well dress Steven up super cute and go take some pics! Those cards came out extra cute and I ended up writing all about how to take better Christmas card photos. If you missed it you can read it here. Shockingly, the cards were a huge hit so we figured we should keep the Christmas card tradition going!
We ended up using Minted for our holiday cards again this year. Grayson and I were so happy with how they came out last year we wanted to keep that tradition going. We love using Minted because of how easy and quick the ordering process is. You can literally just upload your desired photo, see how your specific image looks in each design and then pick your favorite.
You can easily customize each part of the card as well as envelopes and stamps. We decided not to do stamps last year but that was a must on my list for 2018. The stamps we chose are not limited to the holidays but are white with a little pine tree that simply say The. Goff’s. I wanted something that we could use after the holidays were over if we had leftovers.
Why are Holiday and/or Christmas Cards so important?
Even though we live in a world filled with technology I am still one of those people that loves to take the time to handwrite a note or card. In this case, snail mailing out Christmas cards. There’s just something about knowing someone took the time to hand write me a card that makes me so happy. It is so much more personal than sending an e-vite or a thank you via email.
Christmas cards are a way that we can update friends and family on what has been going on in the past year. I know I don’t see a lot of my family and friends as much as I would like. It’s nice to let them know we are thinking about them by sending them something special in our lives.
2018 was an eventful year for us. I randomly decided that I wanted to finish renovating our first house and move. Within a couple weeks time we had the house on the market and it ended up selling, over asking within the first few hours of being live. We found a house a little outside of Austin in Lakeway and moved into our dream house. If you follow me on Instagram I’m sure you’ve been overloaded with home photos!
I hope each and every one of y’all had an amazing year and cheers to what 2019 has in store!
