Hello, summer! Even though it’s technically still Spring for a few more weeks. 🤨 It is officially hot in Austin, TX which means it’s time to wear the most minimal yet breezy clothing. I don’t know if the Billy Reid bandana dress I’m wearing in the below photos really counts as minimal but it is definitely breezy and perfect for the hot summers in Texas! In that case, give me all the comfy dresses because it’s only getting hotter!
Alright, let’s talk details on this bandana dress. I found this beauty on Billy Reid‘s website last month and knew it HAD to be mine! Do y’all ever see something and just know it’s going to be one of those pieces that will look amaze? That was my feeling with this dress. Even though it is one size fits all I knew the style was going to work really well. The asymmetrical handkerchief hem is the perfect cut for any body type. No matter your size this bandana dress is going to be absolute perfection.
Personally, I absolutely love the feel of an oversized dress that still gives you some shape. It also comes with an optional belt that you can wrap around if you are wanting to show your figure off a little more. Since this look was a little more on the casual, summery side I opted for no belt. If you are going to be wearing this a little dressier with heels I would definitely suggest throwing a belt on. I wanted more of a summer feel and vibe with this look so I kept it pretty simple with some wedges and a straw bag. This bandana dress is fully lined so there’s no need to worry about anything peeking through! Another perk with this dress is that it’s completely machine washable! NO dry cleaning needed!! Hallelujah!
Can we now talk about these sunnies for a minute. Let me preface this paragraph with the fact that it’s extremely rare if you EVER see me without a pair of sunglasses on. From a very, very young age I realized my eyes were extremely sensitive. I was practically forced to start wearing sunglasses at an early age or I literally couldn’t keep my eyes open. Fast forward to now; still the same. 😂 You will most likely never see me without sunglasses on if I am outside; even in the rain. Yes, it’s that bad. Long story short, when I am looking for sunglasses I am looking for pairs that will last me for years. I HATE buying new sunglasses. Whatever I invest in is going to last for years!
I don’t know if y’all remember those black Gucci sunglasses I always used to wear in my posts? I bought those about 5-6 years ago and literally just retired them… Mainly because so many people were like when are you getting new sunglasses… Haven’t you had those sunglasses for years… I’ve never seen you wear anything else… Sunglasses and wallets are literally the only things I never change in my wardrobe. When I spotted these Billy Reid’s I knew they would be special. They would be a pair that I would have and wear for years to come. Sure enough, I am wearing them non-stop as some of y’all have probably noticed already.
I know a lot of people always tell me that they can’t invest in nice sunglasses because they always lose them. SO, if you are someone that doesn’t lose your sunglasses constantly and are more like me where they will last you years and years; I highly suggest these! They are light weight, absolutely perfect and the neutral color goes with everything!
