Happy Monday, friends! Sorry to have been completely MIA over the last 6-7 days. This past week I had the pleasure of styling a fun project for Spike TV and Carnival Cruises outside in Galveston on two different ships. Talk about being completely drained! 100 degree weather has officially hit Texas and I can’t say that I am in the least bit pleased about it. I’m just glad there was a nice breeze and was definitely more than happy it decided to rain on us a couple of times! Now, I’m back in Austin and ready to get some fun posts up for you guys! 🙂
Most of y’all know by now that if I love something I am going to stock up on as many colors as they have made of that product. This peplum top is one of them! I first scored the chambray version when it hit stores a few months ago and was hoping they would product more colors as I wear it multiple times a week. I’m beyond excited to tell y’all that they have made FOUR different colors of the same top! Guess who already stocked up on all of them?? This girl!
These beauties are only $39 and absolutely perfect for any summer occasion! I’ve listed the four options below in the scroller and added a few of my other favorite peplum tops that won’t break the bank. Everything is under $100 and all monochromatic so you don’t have to worry about mixing and matching colors. They are the easiest to throw on and go.
I’m always such a huge fan of cutoff shorts but have been looking for a dressier pair recently that would meet all of my dressy short specifications. They have to be the perfect length; not too long but not too short either as that would totally defeat the purpose! I want a little detailing on them too so they come across dressier than a normal pair of cotton shorts.
I saw this gorgeous, lace pair of shorts on the Chicwish website a couple months ago to see if they could potentially work as my dressy shorts option. Once they arrived I immediately knew I would be wearing these ALL the time. Normally with these peplum tops I will throw on a pair of cutoffs and flip flops and be good to go but there are times that I would actually like to dress these tops up and wear with heels or wedges.
The shorts are more on the high waisted side and also have a longer inseam for those who don’t want something too short. They do run a tad small so I would suggest ordered up. I normally wear a 0/2 in shorts/pants so I ordered a medium just to be safe and they fit my waist perfectly. I ended up having a tailor shorten the inseam for me since I have shorter legs and a longer torso. I needed it all to balance out correctly and absolutely love the length they are now. These do have pockets too!!
I added a few of my go-t0 dressier shorts options below in the scroller all from Chicwish! If y’all haven’t ordered from them before definitely give them a try. They are even having an additional 10% off with code JUL10.
I opted for a simpler bag for this monochromatic look as I didn’t want anything to clash with the stripes too much. This Henri Bendel bag has been one of my favorite bags this season. 1. It goes with anything, everything and any color you may be wearing and 2. the embossed snakeskin detailing are GORGEOUS! They have some absolutely gorgeous snakeskin embossed bags and accessories out this month that I’ve listed below! They are even having a MEGA sale right now so click HERE to shop!
