Who says you can’t turn heads in black during the summer? If you know me you know I love wearing black during any and every season. No matter what monochromatic shade I chose to wear each day, I will still try and make a statement with detailing on my tops, shorts, accessories or shoes. I know a lot of people think black is too wintery looking and try and stay away from darker hues during the summer but I’m here to tell you that darker clothes can still look summery.
Below are my 5 go-to black, lace tops for summer that I, personally, can’t live without. I own all of these tops and have been wearing each one non-stop throughout the Texas summer. If you see a top you like and want to shop just click on the top and it will take you to the site to shop.
Like I said in one of my previous posts; even the darker shades out with lighter accessories. Obviously we can use the outfit I’m wearing as a good example. If you choose to wear a dark top that has some detailing, go pretty simple on the shorts, jeans or skirt and even your accessories. You don’t want to go overboard with too many details within one outfit. I opted for some plain white cutoffs, solid black shoes with small tassel details on the back and a basic grey bag with snake embossed handles for a little pop of subtle pattern.
If y’all are wondering about the top I am wearing, here are some quick details. This top runs true to size. I am wearing a small and it fit me perfectly. It is also fully lined so you don’t have to worry about finding yourself a cami to go underneath it. It lining is pretty fitted so you can actually see the lace detail more. Good news too, the shoulder straps are adjustable so you can get that perfect fit!
