Welcome to Hotel Van Zandt in one of the hippest areas of Austin; iconic Rainey Street.

I’m going to start off this review of Van Zandt in a very unusual fashion. One of the best parts of my stay was the bathroom! And for a good reason; the bath tub and view were spectacular. For those that know me, I absolutely love a modern looking stand alone tub, add on top a lovely view of downtown Austin and I’m sold. The only guest who didn’t like the tub was Steven Jalepeño (my Brussels Griffon) because he couldn’t keep his watchful eye on mommy.

This brings me to the next coolest thing about the Van Zandt, it is pet friendly with no deposit required!! Steven really couldn’t complain since he got his own dog bed and bowls delivered to the room upon our arrival! He’s an extremely picky dog when it comes to his bedding and absolutely loved it. So much so, we are buying one online from the Van Zandt store.

The attention to detail in the room and the rest of the hotel was absolutely amazing. From little things like USB charging ports and a portable bluetooth speaker to the overall atmosphere created by the mid century modern furniture and Texas based artwork. That attention to detail wasn’t just in what you could see, but also in what you would hear as I explored the hotel. Lauren Bucherie is the resident musical expert that has handcrafted a song list for each individual section of the hotel. There’s a separate playlist for the lobby, for the restaurant, for the pool (and even underwater!), and for the elevators! This touch really set the mood for my entire stay and was a true testament to the Van Zandt for adopting that ‘weird’ Austin lifestyle.

Now, on to the fashion portion of the post!! I always have to do an outfit shoot in all of the cool places I stay and there was no exception here. The interior of this space is spectacular, as you can see from the photos above. The horn chandelier is one of my favorite pieces from this hotel so I had to try and incorporate them somehow.

This gorgeous dress is from Windsor and fit the scenery perfectly. The right amount of color against the industrial touches of the hotel’s exterior.
