How to Create a Capsule Wardrobe with Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Pieces

Below you will find my suggestions on how to create a capsule wardrobe with picks from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I have added multiples of specific items to give you product options depending on fit and stock. This collage is more of a helpful suggestion of what to buy if you are on a budget and/or want versatile pieces for Fall/Winter.

A moto jacket or a blazer would be a great addition to a capsule wardrobe. I know these types of pieces aren’t for everyone so I didn’t include them in the collage. Those are 2 pieces I personally LOVE and wear throughout Fall and Winter. I have a great Moto jacket option linked below in the images that I have had for years. The same brand of jackets are on this sale but they are a little different. They are still amazing quality and will last you multiple years. Size down if you want to wear them with thinner tops or camisoles underneath and size up if you want to wear over chunkier knits.

Something Navy Leopard Cardigan

Let’s talk sizing on this cardigan. I am wearing the small and have had quite a few people ask if they should size down. If you are going to utilize the button front do not size down. If you are going to leave it open then you can size down.

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale BlankNYC Suede Mini Skirts

These skirts are another must have. I purchased the grey suede mini last year on the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and wear it all the time. When I saw they were coming back I grabbed the tan color asap! These pieces are extremely versatile to transition into Fall and get you through Winter. I always wear Spanx tights underneath when the weather gets cooler. You can pair OTK boots or booties with them too or even flats if you are going to wear these to work.

I am wearing the size 26 and I do think they fit true to size. They are all priced at $65 and are well worth the price. These skirts are real suede!

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale BP Lace Cami

These BP lace tops are on the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale every single year. And every year they sell out! If you have been eyeing these I suggest getting them before they go! They are only $25 and worth every penny!

I am wearing the size small but have had a lot of questions in regards to sizing. A lot of people size down in these because they are a little roomy. Personally, I like a little looser fit but I could have sized down.

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Spanx Faux Leather Leggings

I was so excited when I saw these Spanx leggings on the sale this year! I feel like the faux leather leggings never go on sale so stock up! Last year I had purchased 2 pairs of the same leggings just in case something happened to the other pair! That’s how much I love them. Stick with your usual size in these leggings. I am wearing a size small. If you feel like you are going to be way too constricted then size up. Personally, I like my leggings super tight so they suck me in.

I have also had quite a few questions on the best layering tees. If you remember last Nordstrom Anniversary Sale there were some amazing Trouvé long sleeve tops that aren’t on the sale this year. I found tops that are almost identical to those tops but much less sheer. I actually bought them in all of the colors offered!

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Steve Madden Black Booties

When I saw these online they instantly called my name! I had so many messages from people saying they were so me right when I posted them on Stories! The buckle detailing on the side is to fun and edgy!

I ended up sticking with my usual size in these booties. If you are going to wear thicker socks I would definitely suggest going up a half size. I’m not wearing socks with these because you might be able to see them.

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale BlankNYC Suede Moto Jacket

These moto jackets are a must have every single NSALE. There are always different versions of the same jacket each year and each year I stock up. I think I own 12 different colors of this jacket now. They are 100% worth the price because they are going to last you for years.

This comes in a grey color as well. I am wearing a slightly different version because I didn’t want to buy another jacket that was essentially the same. These are real suede and extremely soft. I always wear a size XS in these Moto jackets unless I am planning to wear thicker tops or chunkier sweaters underneath. Definitely grab your usual size or size up if you plan on doing that.

Now that I have gone over most of the details on the majority of the pieces I will just add a scroller to shop. If there are new products I am featuring I will go over details with y’all.

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Barefoot Dreams Cardigan

So many of y’all have asked if these cardigans are worth the price and splurge. YES. I buy a new Barefoot Dreams cardigan every Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. They rarely go on sale so when they do I suggest getting one. Shockingly, I didn’t have a black Barefoot Dreams cardigan so I stocked up on that this year.

I am wearing the size XS in all of my Barefoot Dreams cardigans. They do run a little large so if you are between sizes you can probably size down. If you are worried about sizing then order 2 sizes and return what doesn’t work.

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale BlankNYC Snakeskin Mini Skirt

Here is another BlankNYC mini skirt that I absolutely love! I know some of y’all aren’t huge fans of mini skirts so jean outfits are coming soon! I do recommend these skirts though. I’m not a big mini skirt gal either and I actually only own the 3 BlankNYC skirts I’ve shown in this post because they fit so well.

I am also wearing a size 26 in this skirt. Everything about the faux snakeskin print version and the suede are the exact same besides a couple zipper details. This skirt zips up the entire front.

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Signature Cashmere Sweater

This was one of my must have picks from this year’s Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I always have one splurge purchase that ends up always being cashmere. As much as I love extremely affordable sweaters I end up wearing cashmere much more. The Nordstrom Signature pieces are some of my absolute favorites. They are extremely soft but also a great price. I am wearing a size small in this sweater but actually need to size down to the XS. This is an oversized fit so keep that in mind.

Sadly, this Clare V. bag sold out within minutes yesterday. I am hoping they will restock so I will keep an eye out for y’all!

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Chelsea28 Button Front Cardigan

I had a ton of questions about this cardigan when I initially posted it on stories so I wanted to add it into the batch. This cardigan is a great transitional piece into Fall. I’ve been wearing it around the house and to the movies since I got it a few days ago. I absolutely love the button detailing on the front.

I am wearing the size XS/S and think it has a great, comfortable fit.

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Steve Madden Over the Knee Boots

I can’t believe I have had these boots for THREE years. They were some of my first Nordstrom Anniversary Sale purchases when I started blogging. These boots have obviously made the cut if they’ve lasted three entire years without falling apart. And y’all know I wear these all the time!

I’ve been linking a few of my favorite OTK boot options because there are so many styles this year. You really can’t go wrong with any of these styles. I absolutely love any and every black OTK boot and couldn’t recommend them more! They are timeless and will get you through multiple seasons without going out of style.

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Free People Oversized Tunic

This is a sweater that I wasn’t 100% sure I was going to keep. I always love oversized sweaters that are long enough to wear with leggings. This Free People sweater was almost too big on me. I highly recommend sizing down. I am wearing the size XS and it’s still pretty oversized on me.

It does come in multiple colors too. I have seen people wear these as an actual tunic with OTK boots. Honestly, my torso is way too long so my butt was hanging out when I tried to wear it that way. I feel like that’s almost a younger style too. So, if you want something a little more full coverage I would wear this with jeans or leggings.

Topshop Colorblock Sweater

This sweater isn’t really part of the capsule collection but I loved it so much I had to show y’all! If y’all shopped the sale last year you’ll remember the color block version of this sweater that sold out so fast. I personally love this sweater better because it is a little more toned down on the colors. It has a nice pop of blush pink and then neutrals throughout.

I am wearing the 0/2 and think it fits great. It is a little oversized but it is extremely cozy. This sweater does come in solid colors as well. Just click here to shop those.
