Happy Monday, everyone! Grayson and I just got back from a much needed vacation. Most of last week and the weekend was spent in beautiful Hilton Head, South Carolina. We really aren’t people that just go crazy for vacations and feel the need to travel all the time so this was a nice break from our usual scenery. We were actually looking forward to breaking away from the Texas heat but it was just as hot and extra humid there!
Have any of y’all been to Hilton Head before?? I had a few people comment on my Instagram post that they were heading there soon or that they love HHI! But like the extremely last minute planners we are, we didn’t ask but one person for recommendations on this trip. We decided to take it upon ourselves to start exploring or just focus on relaxing. Our hotel was right on the beach with direct access to the water along with a massive pool we pretty much lived at. We definitely wanted to get out to see what Hilton Head Island had to offer. In our many Google searches on what to do, we came across Harbour Town. I was obviously in love because of the beautiful Harbour Town lighthouse and figured it would be the perfect spot for some photos! Every spot is a potential photo opportunity!
On one of our last days we jumped into our sweet rental, a Jeep Wrangler and headed for Harbour Town. Keep cash on hand when you are headed there as you will have to pay a $6 entry fee. We obviously didn’t get the memo and had to go back to the hotel to get some cash.
Surprisingly there is so much to do in this quaint town. We immediately spotted the lighthouse and went over to check it out. You can actually climb the steps all the way to the top of and see the beautiful Lowcountry views. Grayson and I got there around sunset and it was the most stunning view we’d ever seen. If some of y’all watched my Instagram Stories from a few nights ago y’all saw how colorful it was!
We walked around before our dinner reservations at the Crazy Crab. Funny enough, that is one of the only recommendations we got and we were not disappointed. Definitely plan on waiting a while at the popular restaurants. Most places don’t take reservations so make sure you put your name down early and then go explore. All of the restaurants will text you when your table is ready so you don’t have to stay extremely close by.
We put our name down and figured we’d walk around more and take in everything Harbour Town lighthouse had to offer. It is really a place you can stay for hours as you literally have everything you need in one place. Food, great live music, shopping, desserts, plus gorgeous views of the water and all of the amazing boats that I couldn’t fathom ever affording. They even have the cutest red rocking chairs lining the shoppes that were filled with people. It was such a fun atmosphere. Just writing this post makes me miss being there.
Overall, I highly recommend visiting Harbour Town Lighthouse. It was one of our favorite spots to hang out and the food was absolutely amazing. I will be doing another post on what else to do and where to stay in Hilton Head so keep an eye out!
