{Affordable Activewear for Every Body Type}

This post is sponsored by Walmart. All opinions are my own.

Are the days of New Years Resolutions so last year? January 1st came and went. And you know what? I am still the exact same person I was in 2018. I’ve decided that instead of making ridiculous resolutions I would most likely fail at I would implement attainable goals and aspirations into my daily life. The main goal I made for myself in 2019 is to add more activities to get my heart rate up and to get healthier. Whether that is eating healthier, going on walks or trying other fun activities, I need to be moving each and everyday. Then I would really have an excuse to wear my activewear all day!

My goal this year is to make exercising fun! I’m not one of those people who can stick with going to a gym multiple times a week. With my busy schedule and lack of motivation to workout I really need to do things that are easily accessible in or around the house. Thankfully, the new neighborhood we moved to is perfect for all things outdoors!

Here’s a little behind the scenes about my history of fitness… I used to workout 24/7. Not your typical workout but instead I played soccer all day everyday for 15 years. I was in the best shape of my life but once soccer ended I stopped working out cold turkey. The good and bad thing was is that I didn’t gain any weight for years after I quit. 10 years later and I’m still pretty much the same size. Getting motivated to actually do a workout is really hard for me. I used to set goals of actually going to the gym to get a good workout but we’re getting creative and implementing more fun activities that would shed the same results.

Affordable Activewear:

My idea of a good workout is doing more extreme activities; riding dirt bikes, hiking, taking Steven on a walk. Grayson recently suggested I try long boarding with him. For as long as I can remember he has been an avid long-boarder. He’s one of those people that can literally just jump on, go super fast and never fall off. That would be the complete opposite when I think of myself attempting to longboard. I kept psyching myself out that I would get on it and the board would slip out from underneath me and I would bust my ass and break something. Fun Fact – I actually broke my tailbone off falling on my butt too many times.

Since Grayson absolutely loves this sport so much I figured I would try it out… I mean, a little husband/wife bonding over long-boarding never hurt anyone. Insert freaked out face. If I can ride a dirt bike, I can long board.

First things first, what in the world do you wear to longboard? I’m all about extreme sports but I also want to be comfortable and look semi-cute.

I opted for a comfortable, affordable activewear look that I had recently found at Walmart. Grayson and I were browsing their LEGO selection a few days ago when I spotted the cutest leggings EVER. They’re actually the pair I am wearing in this post and they were only $11. I had absolutely no idea that Walmart had such a huge selection of clothing. Not to mention, affordable activewear.

Grayson always makes fun of me for getting side-tracked at stores. We go in looking for 1 thing and leave with a slew of things that weren’t even on the list. Ok, that was me at Walmart. I was so excited to find super cute leggings that fit perfectly for only $11. You better believe I left with over $300 in new athletic wear.

I’m not even joking. Everything in the collage above is what I bought from our Walmart trip. Where else can you get an entire activewear outfit for under $75; shoes included! I was even wearing one of the looks when Grayson got home from work yesterday. He was like dang, I like that new outfit! I was like, It’s from Walmart and was only $30 for both pieces!! He was shocked!

Given the lower price Walmart did not skimp on the quality or fit on any of these pieces. They were comparable to pieces you would spend hundreds of dollars on. To be completely honest, I was extremely skeptical thinking about buying clothes from Walmart. I knew nothing about the brands, the fit, the quality. I mean, is there really a pair of athletic leggings that is going to do the job for $10? Or is there really a sports bra that is high impact that costs $13? The answer is yes! Overall, I was pleasantly surprised and pleased with everything I got! They’ve got men‘s too!!

And obviously I was super stoked to wear one of my new affordable activewear outfits to try out a new activity! And I totally killed it! I didn’t fall once! Yes, there were a couple close calls but overall, Grayson was impressed! He was even nice enough to document the entire thing for y’all!
