{Summers with Nordstrom}

{Summers with Nordstrom}

Hello, Summer!! If you live in Texas you know how crazy this weather has been. Constant rain. 90 degrees one day, 55 the next. And then the extreme humidity hits us, like yesterday. Sweltering! I wanted to create a blog post that is 100% geared towards how to dress for Texas summers with Nordstrom. I know I have enough trouble even getting dressed at all when its 100 degrees outside and 75% humidity, so my goal this summer was to actually find cute and comfy looks together that 1. wont break the bank and 2. won’t have you regretting your outfit choice 10 minutes outside!

I had such a fun time working with Nordstrom on this post for y’all and can’t wait to share my first summer look with you guys! As you read above, Texas summers are brutal. I mean, you literally just walk outside only to feel your makeup melting off…and then you get in your car and sit on your leather seats and immediately let out a cry because your own seats are burning you! And then full blast AC is initiated.

As you can imagine, wardrobe choices are key in this situation! Most summers in the past would consist of me wearing the same ole’ shorts and tank tops, hair in a ponytail and the smallest amount of makeup I could put on and still look somewhat put together! Before I started blogging, I would always see these fashion bloggers looking super cute, wearing all of these layers and I would think…It is hot AF here… How are they not passing out from a heat stroke?!

After realizing I look like a total slob, I set out to find clothes that would withstand the Texas heat. Nordstrom is definitely my go-to all day everyday! I mean, I practically live in the Austin store! I personally shop there, bring my clients in, pull for editorial shoots and we can’t forget the best part; lunching at the Bistro!

Anyway, I started perusing for my new summer wardrobe since it has started to heat up in Austin. First find; this amazing Topshop dress that is under $50! If you know me, I LIVE in maxi dresses in the summer. They are comfortable, appropriate for almost anything you are doing in Austin. Actually, you’ll probably be more dressed up than anyone in this town in the below look!

I styled this simple dress with some fun additions to spice it up a little. First, I tied a knot in the bottom to give it a little something extra. Super easy, quick fix to make your dress look totally different. I’m also a HUGE fan of cross-body bags and this Rebecca Minkoff jumped out at me right when I saw it! I knew I had to have it! This bag totally reminds me of Austin, festival style and knew I would be able to actually get my money’s worth and wear it over and over again! Lastly, can we talk about these leather Free People sandals?! AMAZE!! And they are under $90!! They are packed full of detail and was definitely the finishing touches on this look.

Outfit Details:

Dress – Topshop // Shoes – Free People

Sunglasses – Wildfox // Bee Ring – Kate Spade

Handbag – Rebecca Minkoff

    Great boho vibe (maxi, wrap sandals, embroidered bag), but I love how the old-Hollywood sunglasses elevated the entire look to the epitome of glamorous Austin-ite. Fab!
