{Summer Essentials with Chicwish}

DTKAustin shows us how to wear the highly coveted off-the-shoulder trend with Chicwish, cutoff shorts and wedges from Stuart Weitzman. Want more summer inspiration? Click to get more details!

How is it already mid February and why does it already feel like summer in Texas?? I honestly don’t think we had more than a month of winter-like temps the entire Fall/Winter season. How can I complain though… Any opportunity to enjoy 75 degree weather is ok in my book! That means I need to step up my Spring wardrobe already and I’m not even close to being ready! I did recently score this gorgeous off-the-shoulder top from Chicwish and it has been my first, real Spring purchase! And I am SO excited about it!! Just look at that detail!

The weather in Austin has been so gorgeous I’ve been literally going crazy spending my time either in my house or on the back porch with Steven. I told Grayson to get ready to make some plans for us to actually get outside of the house and go do something before I lose my mind! We were finally able to plan a nice brunch outside at my favorite restaurant, Elizabeth St. Cafe. I feeling pretty amazing and looking super cute so I figured we should go ahead and try and shoot my look since I haven’t taken 1 single outfit photo in over a month. Bad idea. I 100% should have just eaten my lunch and went back home to rest. It was probably the most exhausting, painful thing I have done in a while so y’all better like these shots!! And if you look close you can kinda see one of my surgery incisions!

Enough of my complaining! Let’s talk Spring!

Since it’s essentially already Spring in Texas I’ve started planning for my Spring must haves, and this Chicwish top is a MAJOR must have. Last summer, I felt pretty basic… I would wear the same cut-off shorts, the same tops and the same Tory Burch flip flops almost on a daily basis. This year I’m changing my style and will actually attempt to make more of an effort in looking semi-cute!

So what’s on my Spring must-have list?

Some killer denim shorts! I literally bought three pairs of the same shorts from Target last year and that’s all I was seen in. This year, I will be ditching the 35 pairs of shorts I own and stocking up on shorts that will actually work with my body type and make me feel confident!! The shorts I’m wearing in this look are amazing. American Eagle surprisingly has some killer cutoff shorts already and I bought six pairs! (But order a size up!)

Beautiful blouses. My issue with last summer was that I was walking around looking like I was 18.. Cutoff shorts, tanks and flops; the typical high-schooler look. No bueno! All of the photos I have taken recent inspiration from have one key style and that is a relaxed blouse, a bralette and shorts. Oh, and a tan!

Wedges. Find a pair of wedges or booties that make your legs look amazing! Anyone and everyone is going to look sexy in a pair of shorts and wedges… Literally, everyone! I’ve never heard one person say otherwise! So give it a try!

A cross body bag is a must! Summertime is casual… Who wants to be lugging around a big ass bag all of the time? Find a neutral bag to invest in that will go with anything and everything.

Sunnies. These need no explanation. You need them.

    I’m so jealous of your Spring temps. We were supposed have a Spring teaser this weekend but not so much. I also love this top. I’m so ready to dive into some new cut-off shorts and wedges.

    I’ve heard knee surgery takes quite a while to heal. I hope you’re feeling better very soon! I know it is so tough to be cooped up inside. You look adorable though!
