{My Stay at Lone Star Court}

{My Stay at Lone Star Court}

When I say “It’s about time I took a vacation…” it’s usually way past when I REALLY should have taken one so when Lone Star Court approached me about a weekend staycation in Austin, I couldn’t refuse. Grayson and I always love to experience local hotels and this was one we had heard so many amazing things about so we were definitely excited to get away!

Without even stepping foot on the property, I knew this was going to be the perfect getaway. First off, (I know you’re all dying to know this) they are dog friendly so Steven Jalapeno would join me and Grayson since he really needed a vacation too! Second, they booked us a room on the first weekend of ACL. We had the perfect opportunity to escape the craziness that is south and central Austin. And let me tell you, it was AMAZING!

Lone Star Court is located right in the heart of the Domain and was the perfect location for that busy weekend. Anything and everything we needed for a staycation was in walking distance. Drinks, food, and shopping were all within a short walk or drive and the cool fall weather made it even more enjoyable. If you haven’t visited the Rock Rose area of the domain yet, it should definitely be on your list of things to do in Austin. The whole Domain area is really coming into it’s own and offers a nice reprieve from the hippie Austin vibe.

The hotel itself is only a few years old but does an absolutely amazing job of capturing a retro Austin vibe. It’s a well executed mix of Texas ranch and the 70’s. All the rooms on site face towards a center courtyard so once you enter the hotel, you’re immediately teleported back in time to the good ole’ days as my parents would say.

Lone Star Court also had a nice little surprise for us! After enjoying dinner, drinks and some live music at the very cool Water Trough bar, we noticed they had lit a campfire in the center of the courtyard. We arrived back to our room and found all the ingredients to make s’mores on our bed! This is a service they offer to any of their guest but I definitely wasn’t expecting it! We immediately grabbed a couple more drinks and went straight back out to that campfire! On top of some delicious s’mores, we also met and befriended a couple vacationing from Houston. We enjoyed the next few hours eating a yummy dessert and making new friends!

Check it out for yourselves!
