Happy Thursday! I have to be honest, it’s been tough trying to get into the swing of blogging and posting lately with Hurricane Harvey destroying everything in it’s path. For days the only thing I have been able to do was watch the Weather Channel 24/7 in disbelief of what is happening to friends, family, pets, strangers, homes and businesses. My heart pours out to anyone and everyone effected by this horrendous storm. If you are still looking for ways to donate I have compiled a post with reputable and trustworthy places that desperately need your help – CLICK HERE. I have brought supplies to Austin Pets Alive over the week and have been donating funds to the Red Cross and countless other charities but I still don’t feel like it’s enough. I would give anything to be down in Houston and the surrounding areas to rescue stranded people and animals. My heart is literally breaking everyday and I can’t help by cry for everyone and everything they’ve lost including all of the helpless pets who have no idea what is even going on. THANK YOU to all of the brave souls who are down there risking their lives to help others.
Alright guys, sorry to keep talking about transitional wear for Fall, I’m just so excited to start wearing fall clothes! With all of this crazy hurricane weather we actually had temperatures in the 60s-70s last weekend which meant I got to pull out some of my new sweaters and cardigans. One of the topics that I want to talk about for fall transitional wear are my top coziest cardigans to layer for the fall. Cardigans were all the rage last Fall and they are already proving to be a hot commodity and cooler temps haven’t even hit yet. In Texas, layering is a necessity as one minute temps will be in the 50s and then sky rocket up into the 80s by the afternoon.
I love throwing on a cardigan when I feel like my outfit is missing something but also because I’m most likely going to be sweating by the end of the day. Looking back last year, I feel like cardigans were such a must have that almost every photo I would see posted by a blogger had a chunky knit cardigan. They were either slightly off the shoulders with a beautiful cami underneath or a lightweight cardigan with a striped long sleeve shirt underneath paired with skinny jeans and some OTK boots. Now that Fall is closely approaching I have seen countless amounts of people, including me, sharing the best ways to layer cardigans. Looks like this trend is going to be sticking around for quite some time, thankfully!
One of my go-to looks that you’ll see me wearing this Fall is this knit cardigan from Caslon. The neutral colors make it super easy to be worn with anything and is really warm for those chilly fall days. Cardigans are one of my favorite fall accents because they can be easily worn with a cami, sweater, long sleeve shirt and leggings or skinny jeans. Even with the warmer Texas weather it actually does get cooler during the fall months and cardigans are PERFECT for this kind of weather! Not only do they keep you warm, they definitely don’t make you feel too stuffy like a big winter coat. I guess that’s a reason I love Texas winters… They’re never TOO cold. And if they are, it’s rare and wont last long! Ha!
Has anyone else been craving cooler temps?? I have been dreaming of Fall weather just so I can start pulling all of my cardis and sweaters out! Relaxing by a cozy fire with a cup of hot chocolate sounds so dreamy right now but I know it won’t be nearly that cold here for quite some time.
This cardigan is about sold out so I have linked the other color option as well. For sizing, I am wearing an XS. Most everything I am wearing actually has a less expensive version so I have linked everything below.
