Just another manic Monday! I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend and survived the always dreaded Monday’s! I definitely did NOT want Monday to get here as fast as it did. Do you ever just have those perfect weekends that you never want to end?? That was my weekend! My mom came in from LA on Thursday and we got to spend the entire weekend together. Grayson and I took her to the ranch to see the horses, had yummy breakfasts at Blenders and Bowls, had a challenging time installing our french doors and ran lots and lots of errands! Who else loves errands… Grayson makes so much fun of me because I love them so much!
Enough about my weekend and more about this fabulous outfit!! Now that the weather is cooling off a little I’ve been trying to wear more “transitional” pieces, as you’ve noticed from my latest blog posts. And you know, when a “cold front” comes through Austin, you have to take advantage!! Not like our Fall cold fronts get any cooler than 85, but I’ll take that as a reason to start minimal layering!
This outfit has to be one of my favorites lately. Why, you ask?? Because it is cute, casual with just the right amount of dress, and comfy! If I’m going to be out and about in Austin, I need something I get wear out of ALL day long and not want to rush home to change out of something or everything. I saw this top online and immediately knew that I would be able to make this a staple of mine through the end of summer into winter. Thankfully, the fit is looser so it breathes better than something a little more form fitting.
Another favorite of mine are these jeans. If you’re not familiar with Articles of Society, check them out. They had sent me a pair of jeans over the summer but never had the chance to wear them until now. It’s just too dang hot for jeans in the summer!! All I have to say is that I put these babies on and NEVER wanted to take them off!! Not only are they so soft, they fit like a glove, but not too tight. They are hands down the most comfortable pair of jeans that I own. If I haven’t convinced you of their amazingness yet, keep reading! They are AFFORDABLE!!! This pair is only $64 and the others are all under $100!! Total steals. If you do order, they run true to size. 🙂
I wanted to give this chic look a little extra pizzazz so I opted for a lace up pair of heels and my favorite bag from Henri Bendel. The olive green is such a great transitional color and is definitely going to be a hot one for Fall! Not a huge fan of olive green? Well I’m going to change your mind on that one! I honestly consider this color a neutral at this point simply because olive goes with anything and everything; browns, blacks, greys, most colors! So, if you’re like me and don’t wear a ton of color, olive green is a great way to add in a slight pop to a very neutral color palette.
