{Scottsdale MiniMoon}

I can’t believe it’s almost been an entire month since our elopement! I literally JUST got the link to our wedding photos and can’t wait to show them to y’all!! If you’ve been following along on Instagram, you have probably noticed an overwhelming amount of photos from Scottsdale. So many people have asked, and why Scottsdale… You know it’s really hot there, right?? Grayson and I didn’t have much time to take a full on honeymoon so we elected to go somewhere close for 5 days and the winner was the desert!

Right when we got off the plane in Arizona we could feel the heat on our faces. Such a nice, dry heat unlike the 90 degrees outside with 90% humidity in Texas that gives you a heat index of 115 degrees!! The most popular comments we’ve heard since we got back was, so it was pretty hot there huh? Ok, yes, it was hot… 109 degrees to be exact but it wasn’t bad at all! If you live in Texas, you know how bad our heat + humidity is and you most likely never leave the indoors during the summer unless you have a pool.

Since we were only gone 5-6 days, we really wanted to do it up for our mini-moon so we chose to stay at the Four Seasons in Scottsdale. BEST DECISION EVER. Y’all are going to read this post and wonder if they paid me to say all of this amazing, corny stuff, but NO it was that amazing. We are literally still blown away by how perfect our stay was. Before I even say anything else; 1. Go visit Scottsdale. 2. Stay at the Four Seasons! 100% worth it!

Once Grayson and I arrived at the resort Monday afternoon, we were immediately greeted and given a tour of the grounds. Since this is a resort, we quickly realized we would definitely have a fun filled 5 full days there! We were transported by golf cart to our extremely spacious casita and the first thing I did was run into the bathroom to make sure they had a tub! And did they ever!!! Overall, the room was gorgeous and we even had a huge balcony with a gorgeous view of the mountains.

I was definitely excited for the champagne and yummy chocolate covered strawberries. The PR gals were totally awesome and surprised us with a selfie stick too!!!

So, funny story. We were in talks of working on details of a couple’s Instagram takeover while we were there and I was concerned we wouldn’t have anyone to take our photos and wasn’t confident that most people would know how to work our high-tech camera so we joked around about having a selfie stick on hand! And they came through! We all had a great laugh!

If you’ve been considering staying at this resort, I wanted to give y’all a quick summary of some of the fun things to do around the property!

Let’s talk about Food, because that is literally what is ALWAYS on my mind! There are three restaurants on the property so you never have to leave and you will always have a variety of food choices. One of the days we ate at the same restaurant three different times and we were totally satisfied each time!

There is Proof, which turned out to be one of our most frequented places. Notice the photo above?? That was by far, my favorite meal; the Bigger than Texas biscuits and gravy. Talk about savory!! Proof is an American canteen featuring homestyle comfort food sourced exclusively from all 50 states. The atmosphere is perfect for an easy dinner, an evening with the family or drinks with friends and a set of railroad tracks run through the dining room! They even have TVs and other fun games to play.

This casual spot specializes in light poolside meals/snacks as well as fruit kebabs, fruit smoothies and other yummy beverages. Saguaro is located outdoors, at the pool’s edge and offers gorgeous views of Troon Mountain and Pinnacle Peak from sunrise to sunset.

Now, if you are wanting a fancy night out, check out Talavera. Only open a few nights a week, Talavera is the best place to dress up for date night. We celebrated our last evening in Scottsdale over champagne and the yummiest meal before we headed back to Texas. Talavera’s steakhouse menu is focused on locally sourced cuisine, including but not limited to meat, poultry and seafood.

What I loved the most about all of these restaurants is each chef seeks out fresh produce from local farms. Even their olive oil is sourced from a nearby mill!

Now, let’s move on to the fun activities! Of course, the pool is definitely the hottest spot of the resort. You don’t have to worry about the area being too packed as you have 1 adult pool, a family pool and a kid’s pool to choose from. Grayson and I rented a private cabana one of the days and had the most relaxing time! We even got really corny and ordered piña coladas in giant pineapples!! Head over to the Four Season’s Instagram this weekend to check it out! (@fsscottsdale)

Since it was a little warm outside, we elected to be poolside everyday! And for all of you golf addicts, you have over 300 days of sunshine in Scottsdale with some amazing courses to choose from.

Scottsdale Minimoon | Scottsdale, AZ travel | where to stay in Scottsdale, AZ | Scottsdale, AZ travel guide | hotels in Scottsdale, AZ || Dressed to KillI can immediately tell you, we decided to take it easy this trip with our mornings and evenings filled with long walks, room service and massages galore! The mornings and evenings were so perfect for walks. It was so nice to actually get up right when the sun was coming up, have a cup of coffee on the balcony, catch up on work and get ready for a walk before 8am! The weather and scenery were so gorgeous right before the sunrise and sunset. And my gosh, the sunsets… Such a clear sky and so many gorgeous colors!! We really wanted to take advantage of the grounds during our free time.

Grayson and I had never ever had a couples massage so we wanted to give that a try. Not only were our 90 minute massages beyond relaxing, it was the best massage I have ever had. The massage therapist was using so many new techniques that I had never experienced before and was overly impressed. Best. Massage. EVER. And did you know that non-resort guests can now enjoy a day at the spa?

Overall, our stay was better than we could have ever expected. We were blown away by the amazing service, staff, food, and overall aesthetic of the resort. One of the best parts of our stay was how their staff paid such meticulous attention to details. We had a dirty pair of sunglasses laying on a nightstand and they literally cleaned them for us and left a cleaning rag for us to use during our stay. It’s literally like they were thinking of things we needed before we even thought of them.

This definitely won’t be the last time I visit the Four Seasons Scottsdale!
