{Holidays with Silver Jeans Co.}

Hello holidays!! Is this anyone else’s favorite time of the year, or is it just me?? When I think of the holidays I automatically dream of snow, family traditions, yummy food and holiday parties!! Could there be anything better?? I have partnered with Silver Jeans Co. to share one of my favorite cozy Fall looks and talk all about my family’s ever-changing holiday traditions! Are they really traditions if they are always changing?? Ha! What are some of y’alls family traditions??

When I was about 6 years old my parents got divorced and soon thereafter I was introduced to my soon-to-be step siblings. For me, this was quite the change since I was previously an only child, which meant we would be changing all of our holiday traditions to incorporate my newly gained family members. It’s funny to think back because I don’t know if many of our holidays have been extremely traditional over the past 25 years! We’re kind of a go with the flow kinda family! Especially these days now that all of the kids are married and having kids which means a scheduling nightmare!

The one tradition we have kept is making it a top priority to carve out time for the family around the holidays. Whether it is the day before Christmas or spending time together on Christmas Day, we make a point to get together no matter what. We always plan a fun Christmas dinner, go to church to sing carols, come back home and open ONE gift, then have tasty desserts and await gift opening with everyone Christmas morning! Those have definitely been our holiday traditions over the years no matter how many elements have changed, we still make time to do those 6 things. My favorite!!

So let’s talk fashion! I am ALL about being cozy in the winter time! Thankfully, the Austin weather is starting to get chillier and chillier! I think we might even see our first freeze Friday! Say what??? The past few days have been so cold; I mean, in the 40s and pouring!! How is a girl supposed to look cute and go shoot!! That was the situation I was in shooting this look! I have been so busy with work that I only had the weekend to shoot! Grayson and I were trying to plan on shooting Saturday but it literally didn’t stop raining the entire day so we planned for Sunday, no matter what!! We were going to suffer! And did we ever! It was SO COLD and raining!! Thankfully, the rain subsided a little and we found a few covered dry spots but geez Texas!! It’s supposed to be warm still! 😉

I do have to say that this look kept me so warm even though we were outside in 40 degree, rainy weather. Like I’ve said in the past, I’m not one to bundle up and be too hot only because stores and restaurants keep it blazing hot inside so you’re just constantly peeling off layers. I always love to pair a long sleeve shirt and a cozy cardi together and I’m good to go. Depending on the weather I’ll throw on a scarf or beanie and have a coat on hand if I know I’ll be outside longer than a walk from the car into a store.

I think my favorite part of this entire look would have to be the ombre cardigan! It’s such a great grab-and-go piece and it’s oh so cozy!! Priced at under $90 it has definitely been my most worn article of clothing with the changing Texas weather. I was throwing on a tank underneath when it was heating up during the day but now I’ve been wearing cozy flannels or lightweight sweaters underneath! The plaid shirt I’m wearing is also from Silver Jeans and is one of my faves because it is so long! I always love longer tops because I have such a long torso and this definitely did the trick!! I paired this look with an edgier pair of denim since that’s practically all I wear these days! Yes, your knees might get a little cold but hey, you’re going to look good! I topped this look off with my favorite pair of Sorel’s!

These pieces do fit pretty true to size! I would suggest ordering down if in the jeans if you are between sizes because they have SO much stretch in them!! The cardigan is a little oversized so you could most likely order a size down as well! The flannel fits TTS so you should be good to go!! AND it’s on SALE!!!
