{Navy Lace}

Happy Weekend everyone! Who else is ready for some cooler temps?? Saying I am ready is an understatement… I’ve already found myself starting to buy more and more sweaters, scarves and OTK boots lately and its still over 100 degrees here without a remote chance of cooling down soon. That calls for a colder weather vacation, right?! I have tried to be conscious of buying things that I can easily transition into Fall or wear indoors without getting too hot here. One of my latest finds is this chic, navy shirt dress by David Lerner. (It comes in white too!)

David Lerner has been one of my favorite go-to brands for years now. I first came across their line of leggings and would literally stock up every single Fall! I was really excited to find out they actually had other pieces besides my highly coveted leggings! This could turn into a shopping problem. 🙂

I fell in love with this dress the first time I saw it online and knew I had to have it simply because of the lace trim around the bottom hem! In the past, I had always been hesitant about buying shirt dresses, simply because of my bust. I would essentially have to purchase a larger size so the buttons didn’t pull apart and then I look like a frumpy mess. When I ordered this dress I was hoping it would fit perfectly since I ordered my normal size, a small. The dress arrived and it came with a long cami to go underneath so I could keep some of the buttons undone!! WINNER!!

This dress does run very true to size. I would say if you are really busty, either order up a size if you don’t want to wear the cami underneath, or order your normal size, utilize the cami and unbutton a few buttons. I went with the latter and it worked out perfectly for me. Not only was it cooler, but it was way comfier too!

If you’re still on the fence, let me convince you even more! So let’s recap what we’ve got – You can wear this dress into Fall, it’s cute and comfy, it’s long enough, has the best details and it’s appropriate to wear to work! With that being said, you can easily dress this piece casual or on the dressy side. If I had an office job, I would be wearing this every single day with a pair of pumps. If it’s getting into the colder months and you don’t want your legs shown, throw on some tights underneath and a blazer to top things off.

I styled this dress more on the casual side to show how you can still get wear out of a cooler weather dress while it’s still hot outside. This would be something I would definitely wear out on a date in Austin when the temps cool down a little. I paired this piece with some fun Splendid shoes and an easy chain, cross-body bag.

Of course, I had to throw on one of my favorite watches too! A couple of months ago I had entered a contest with Frederique Constant for one of their Horological watches and WON!! This is, by far, the chicest smart watch I have ever owned and I can’t get enough of it!! There are a couple photos of it below and most people literally have no idea that it is a smart watch! If you’re in the market for a smart watch that is on the nicer side, check Frederique Constant out. They are sold in Austin at Bailey Banks and Biddle in Barton Creek Mall!
