Does anyone else reading this post have hair extensions? Y’all know the hair drying struggle is real! Anyway, I got my first set of hair extensions about 3-4 months ago in an attempt to make my hair fuller and thicker. Once they were successfully installed, dried and styled I never paid much attention to them the first few days until my first wash. Silly ole’ me thought that this would be like any other day I washed and dried my hair but I was wrong!! A normal dry time for me was literally 5 minutes… with extensions and my crappy dryer is was TWO HOURS! The texture of hair extensions is so different than the texture of my natural hair so I was immediately on the hunt for something that would dry my hair extremely fast. No one has time to spend hours on their hair, at least I know I don’t! After getting extensions my entire hair washing and drying routine changed. I would wash at night, sleep on it wet and then blow dry the rest in the morning which made things pretty efficient but it wasn’t ideal. I finally rounded up the best of the best hair dryers that dry hair extensions quickly.
Does anyone else out there suffer from the occasional feeling of insomnia? You’re absolutely exhausted but your braid just won’t shut off? This is me, ALL the time, especially over the past couple of days since Hurricane Harvey hit Texas. My mind has been racing constantly wondering how people are doing on the coast, what I can do to help, dealing with my own issues at my house from the weather, etc. It’s been never ending! Not to mention, I seem to have sleeping issues either way but when something big is happening or I’m in desperate need of a good night’s rest I can’t, for the life of me, fall asleep. I refuse to take sleeping pills so I have found a few (5 to be exact) things that have helped me get to sleep a little easier without taking pills. Obviously, you don’t have to do all of these things in one night but maybe try them over the span of a week and see if you notice a difference.
I never thought the day would come where I would be able to skip the optometrist to order my contacts! Does anyone else cringe at the thought of having to make a trip all the way to the eye doctor just to get a prescription refilled?? Don’t get me wrong, I do love going to the optometrist since my friend owns the clinic and it’s great to catch up but sometimes I wish I could just stay in the comfort of my own home and easily order new contacts. Or those times when I am about to go out of town and I look and notice I only have a few days worth of contacts left only to find out my prescription has expired and now I need to make a trip in. It’s just so time consuming and more money than I want to pay most times.
With all of the harmful chemicals put in most beauty products these days, how do you know what’s best for your body and skin? On the other end, why would you want to spend days, weeks or months trying out multiple skincare products that could be harmful to begin with? I was one of those girls that waited way too long to get into a good skincare regimen until recently. Leading up to this point, there was much trial and error figuring out what worked best for my skin. This entire post is dedicated to sharing FOUR of my favorite skincare products by TULA and why they work for most.

Sh*t just got real… But seriously, you’re going to get to know me really well with this post. I don’t know about you, but I know I don’t like to be that person after going to the bathroom in a public place or even at home. This is totally TMI, but I’m one of those people who is doing the triple flush before, during and after and then dousing the bathroom with a ridiculous amount of air freshener. I mean, no one needs to know that us ladies poop or even worse, have smelly poop!! 😂 Sorry guys. Continue Reading
We all have those days where all we want is what we can’t have. Whether it be less wrinkles, straight hair, the perfect body, long eyelashes, we’ve all been there. I was one of those people who was born with extremely long eyelashes. No idea where they came from or which family member I got them from but I really never paid any attention to them until the eyelash extension craze started a few years ago. Almost everyday someone will ask me where I get my lashes done and if I love having lash extensions. Obviously, they’re a little taken aback when I say they are 100% natural and immediately want to know my lash secrets!
Living in the era of the sheet mask, how do you know which is right and beneficial for your skin? I’ve rounded up my favorite picks for all skin types that have been my personal favorites for the past year. Surprisingly enough, I JUST started using sheet masks about 6 months ago and have completely fallen in love. They are so easy to throw on and lounge around or even get work done around the house while still getting an amazing facial. I’ve tested out hundreds at this point and have only found a handful that I’ve actually seen great results with.
Since I can remember I was always someone that absolutely had to wash my hair every single day or I didn’t feel clean. Then, I started getting my hair colored more and more and realized my color started fading quicker and quicker with the frequency I was washing my hair. Once I became self employed I realized I could probably get away without washing my hair for a day and just throw it up in a ponytail. That one day turned into 3-5 days and I started only washing my hair maybe once or twice a week. I guess slathering my scalp with dry shampoo became the norm at one point. Except that every time I would go in to see my hair stylist she would have to deal with a disgusting mess that was called Ashley’s hair!
By now, most of you are very aware that I had major shoulder surgery in January of this year. With that came the realization that I wouldn’t be able to work out for months… Even after a little over 2 months, I’m still not cleared to work out. I tried to go for a run last weekend and made it a mile and was majorly paying for it over the next week. So I’m back to doing minimal walking and trying to eat healthy. Who knew my body would literally start packing on the pounds in places I never saw cellulite… Talk about depressing. Since I’m not able to do much to get in shape I reached out to Novopelle about their Novo Lipo, or Ultrasonic Lipo to see if they could help with some minimal fat reduction in areas that just wouldn’t get toned.
Do yourself a favor and don’t let your scalp end up like this guy; dead and dry!
Alright ladies, it’s time to talk about that embarrassing topic no one ever wants to admit they have. Any guesses… I’ll just throw it out there; dandruff and dry skin. In the big scheme of things its not a HUGE deal but its definitely a downer if it’s something you have to worry about everyday. I’ve partnered with Dove Hair to share my experience with their new Derma Care Scalp Pure Daily Care Anti-Dandruff 2-in-1 Shampoo & Conditioner and boy is it a life changer. Whether you have dandruff or an itchy scalp due to dry skin, you will love these products.
